Welcome to The Pineapple Bungalow in the beautiful Indian Beach Sapphire Shores neighborhood! Affectionately named after the custom white picket fence with pineapple cut-outs and the quaint pineapple garden in the backyard, this 1925 home is just the place to relax and enjoy the sunny, beach life in Sarasota. A quick drive to downtown, and walkable to Sarasota Bay, come stay at The Pineapple Bungalow!
The Pineapple Bungalow is just:
0.5 miles to Sarasota Bay
0.7 miles to Ringling College
1.5 miles from downtown Sarasota
2 miles to Sarasota Airport (SRQ)
2 miles to Ringling Museum
5 miles to the sandy shores of Lido Beach
9 miles to the infamous Siesta Beach
This is a 1500 sq. ft. home with original hardwood floors, plantation shutters, and beautiful natural light throughout. There are two original bedrooms and a new master suite added in March 2020, as well as two full bathrooms. We call the rooms as follows:
The Flamingo Room - queen bed. Closet, dresser.
The Palm Room - twin bed, trundle bed and desk. Closet.
The Pineapple Room - king bed. Walk-in closet, dresser. En Suite.
Each bed is fitted with cotton sheets, a quilt, and a cotton-covered duvet. There is a ceiling fan in each room to complement the central air. Each bathroom includes a full set of larger cotton towels for each guest, as well as shampoo/conditioner/body-wash.
There are two office areas in The Bungalow (one in the Palm Room, and the other in the main living space), and a coastal living room with two generously sized couches and 65" TV. Outside, the front porch sitting area is perfect for enjoying early morning coffee and tropical cocktail hour, and the adjacent farmhouse table is ready to host breezy family dinners. The entirely fenced-in backyard boasts a large family eating area with Sunbrella, a gas grill, and two sun loungers for taking in the Florida sunshine. If eating outdoors isn't in the cards, there is a large dining area off of the kitchen that can accommodate six guests. The laundry area is attached to the kitchen, and the new washer and dryer are free for you to use during your stay.
The Bungalow is lived in by the owners part of the year, so guests can expect a well-stocked home, empty closets, and limited personal belongings.
This is a beautiful older cottage that we've tried to keep as original as possible. As with any generational home, there are a few intricacies with squeaky boards, worn corners, etc. that add to the character of the home and that we have come to love and hope you will too!
Please note (02/08): we recently updated the set-up in the living room. We now have two three-seater couches in that area, instead of the L-shaped couch. We have also changed the carpet under the partners desk to an oriental-style rug. We adore look and openness it provides the space, and hope you will too! Pictures will be posted shortly, but please take this into consideration when booking.
What else do we love about the nearby space Besides the secluded front porch and bright airy old-Florida charm of The Bungalow, we love walks in the neighborhood to enjoy the diverse architecture and lush landscaping. At the end of the street is a public viewpoint where we suggest you watch the stunning sunset over the water. Not much further down is another family friendly park with a playground and walkway.
We look forward to having you and your family and friends.
