Stayed Oct 26, 2025I love historic homes and this cottage was so quaint and charming. It checks all the boxes for a New England coastal getaway. Situated between Boston and Salem it was the perfect location for our group. It was easy to find a parking spot on the neighboring street. Instructions to get into the property were clear. Thank you for renting your beautiful home.

Stayed Oct 9, 2025Let me start by saying I rented this back in April at which time I thought it was a beautiful little cottage and we would be great with it then in August I broke my shoulder and had to have surgery, but I still do not think it was gonna be a problem because it looked like it was a nice place I think you should put a disclaimer on this cottage. That is not good for the disabled the elderly or people with small children, the stairway itself is a death trap. Someone is going to fall down there and hurt themselves. The steps are too small and there is only one handrail which caused the great difficulties that he got them down The hallway going to the bathroom and the three bedrooms is sloped down toward the stairs so if you have slippery socks on and you round a corner zoom you fall down the stairs it was clean and a convenient location. I will say it neglected the necessities of Home such as towels to take showers with. We were given one towel per person for the entire four nights stay . they were not extra blankets. It did get rather cold up there. There was not enough linen if you wanted to pull out one of the trundle beds to use it so that you had a larger space the bed in the extra room that I believe they call a cuddle area to watch TV squeaked every time you moved on it so if you are restless, sleeper everyone else in the house heard squeak, squeak, squeak lI realize it was supposed to be a pioneer kind of cottage, but I don’t believe the early settlers built it.

Stayed Sep 19, 2025House was smaller than pictures showed. Although very historic was a tight squeeze for5 girls. When we got there, one AC unit wasn’t working but owner was great and had it fixed the next day. However parking was extremely hard. No parking near the house had to either go a block away or further so keep that in mind for when you book.

Stayed Sep 25, 2025We enjoyed our stay at the Bracket House. My only small complaint would be the tv situation ( which we only really needed at night for a bit. The WiFi is t great so tv in larger room would go in and out. The smart tv in the smaller room would not allow me to log into any of my apps. But other than that the house was great! And a great location within walking distance to all shops, restaurants and waterfront. Would recommend!

Stayed Apr 13, 2025My family member and I have stayed in Marblehead many times over the years. We used to live there and still have family there. We enjoyed this property. The beds were very comfortable. It has a homey, old fashioned historical feel, is very convenient to shops, the wharf, groceries and restaurants. We opted to pay the nominal fee for daily use of a parking lot a short walk away, felt secure and plentiful. I would recommend doing this. This is not a property for anyone with serious mobility challenges, but that is made clear in the description. It was fine for us and we are both older adults. We are very familiar with the old homes in the area. We would consider this property again for future stays. Thank you.

Stayed Mar 15, 2025Old but very charming and comfortable. i hate hotels and this my second rental like this. I must say I enjoyed it more than a 5 star hotel. old creaky but warm and safe. good neighborhood and walking distance to food. It is very close to Salem and Boston. most impressive was the quick response to all my questions. i will definitely rent the Brackkett Cottage at Marblehead, MA again if I'm ever in Boston,Salem or surrounding areas and thank you for the wonderful service Jeff from Kentucky

Stayed Sep 2, 2024This cottage was perfect for our annual girl trip to Marblehead. The location was perfect for exploring old Marblehead's historic places, dining and shopping- all within walking distance. The cottage itself is very well appointed with everything one would need from cooking to relaxing. The outdoor courtyard was great for winding down after a day of exploring with a glass of wine and a good book. The beds are very comfortable. I am hard pressed to find anything negative about the Cottage.

Stayed Jul 27, 2024Great week again thank you. We have stayed here before in Brackett cottage. The location is superb, a 2 minute walk to the local supermarket, right in the middle of the village and we loved the swims off the dock in the mornings.

Stayed Jul 23, 2024Communication was great but the property was not clean, as we found mouse poop in the bedding, some towels were dirty, and generally it wasn't clean. Additionally, the property has potential but was very tired. One of the beds was super noisy (creaking springs) with a sagging mattress, the kitchen sink didn't work properly as a piece was broken and many lights didn't work. Marblehead itself was lovely but I would not recommend this place. In fairness, we did complain about things when we arrived and the agency sent somebody to fix some of the issues but for example they didn't change the bedding impacted by the mouse poop which is totally unaceptable. We were ultimately really dissapointed and would suggest you look elsewhere if you want to stay in Marblehead.

Stayed Jun 25, 2024Great spot close to shopping and places to eat. Parking was a bit tough but I chose not to pay and opted for on street parking. Had to go down to basement because of a breaker. It was very cramped down there but I managed with the instructions. Nice outdoor space. Overall good place to stay.
