Historic fish camp house nestled on the Kentucky River was a great stay for my wife and I as we explored the Bourbon Trail. Stayed for a week… quiet, secluded with views of the river yet only 10 minutes from Buffalo Trace. Check-in and check out was easy and all amenities as advertised. Great home if you’re lookin for an escape yet close enough to whatever you need.

Wonderful house to stay at and great amenities. They provided everything we needed, and it is in perfect location for some of the best distilleries.

After staying here for 5 nights I can honestly say this is the worst VRBO I have ever stayed at. The main reason I booked this VRBO was due to the photos, location, and view of the river. However, after doing some research, I discovered the photos of the home shown on VRBO date back to the sale of the home in 2021. The previous owner clearly kept the property very well maintained, and the current owner's use of these outdated photos misrepresents the property's actual condition. The home in its current state has very mildewed siding, overgrown landscaping, broken railings, and outdoor furniture in poor condition. Mold in the shower, built up grease on the kitchen stove, master bedroom carpet significantly stained throughout. However, the worst issue is pest control. On day 4, I was surprised by a skink that was in a pile of clothes in the 2nd bedroom. On day 5 I woke up to find scraps of chewed facial tissue leading from the locked dining room closet to the living room. After further investigation, I had the surprise of watching a mouse that ran around the living room from the sofa to the ottoman, back and forth, until eventually it made its way back to the dining room closet. Given these significant problems, it's hard to believe the property has received so many positive reviews. The home requires serious maintenance, both inside and out, and definitely needs pest control. I sincerely hope the owner addresses these issues so other guests have a better experience.

Had a great time with friends at this property. Nice fire rings to relax by in the evening. Clean and comfortable. Everything you may need was there. Very close to Buffalo Trace and other bars in Frankfort. I would stay again.

We checked in and stayed there for five nights, this was a perfect place for us to stay for four adults, during the day we traveled all over the Bourbon Trail, and in the evenings we sat out by the fire over looking the river. The accommodations were perfect for all of us and the view was spectacular. I will be definitely booking this house again for a stay with friends as it was perfect for our trip.

This property was amazing! Great views, especially from the back looking at the river. Fantastic way to end the day on the bourbon trail. The property was close enough that we got to visit all of the distilleries we wanted to while also providing us a quiet area to relax and unwind. Would highly reccomend!

Pleasantly surprised at the proximity to the distillery. The property was gorgeous with amazing views of the river. The house was very quaint with a great kitchen. There could be some additional cooking utensils provided but we were able to make do and perhaps have a layout of the cabinets (there’s tons of cabinet space so easy to get lost in them). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
