Boss Beach / 507 W Beach Drive

Had to get the key from the office, but was an easy process and close to rental. Upon arrival parking was on sand under the house and there were exposed ducts all over and looked dirty and unkept. The refrigerator was leaking and we had to trip the outlet to get it working. The a/c didn’t work well and the 3 window units were very loud and leaking water. The bedroom closet to the ocean had a bad mildew smell and the master bedroom has very hot and uncomfortable. Found an empty lemonade bottle in the nightstand. The linen was in bags by the front door and after a 3 hour drive in, we had to make our own beds. There was a pan collecting a water leak from The kitten sink and was full with greasy water that we had to clean. There was mildew smelling wet bedding in the washer machine that we needed to remove before we could use it. In the back path heading to the beach, we found a broken kite, broken beach toys and broken chairs. The beach was beautiful and the town was great! Will not use this rental again or the coastal vacation rental company due to the upkeep and cleanliness being so poor.

Upon arriving to Boss Beach… we were greeted with stifling heat and lots of dead and alive bugs on the floor! The air conditioning unit was not working! The air filter was received from the return in an attempt to change the airflow and it was filthy dirty and in need of being changed. Service was provided to fix the AC relatively quickly on the night of check in… but the bugs vacationed with us for the entire week! The older home has a soft pillowy mold/mildew in every window. For some reason, every remote was missing the batteries as well as the wall clocks. The windows in the sunroom didn’t close or didn’t close easily…. Leaving the space wet and unusable after a storm on day 3 of the trip. Did I mention the giant bugs that crawled out from under the fridge each night and then died on the kitchen floor for my toddler aged son to find each morning. The best thing about this house was the proximity to the beach, it was super close. The kitchen was also well stocked with cookware, etc. Otherwise the house is in desperate need of some significant renovations and additional pest control measures.
