House is in good condition overall. TV in dining room isn’t connected to any streaming service like in the master bedroom. Towel rod in master bathroom fell off the wall. Master bed is comfy. The views are nice. No light switch in the laundry room.
Property was very clean and had amazing views in the backyard. Very close to town and other exhibits. It was great for my family.
Very relaxing stay at this house. Beautiful view from the deck. Plenty of natural light throughout the house. The house is further up the road than Apple maps states. Not an issue in the day time, might be difficult at night. Very convenient to Harper's Ferry / Antietam and other points. Very nice since we wanted to be in a quieter setting and this place deliver that. Communitcation with unit staff was great.
The house and location were excellent. Just beautiful. The house was beyond clean and so well equipped. Only one concern. The master bedroom mattress is in dire need of replacement as it sags deeply and is most uncomfortable. Also upon stripping the sheets in the master bedroom hair ties flew from the bed leaving one to believe that maybe they were not cleaned. Upon stripping the bed in the upstairs second bedroom there were dead bugs on the mattress. I feel this needs no further explanation. Just ewe. Other than that...Just WOW! We most certainly will return to Harpers Ferry and this amazing home. ?
My mom and I had a wonderful winery weekend, and the house was lovely, fairly well maintained and clean to come home to. The beds are super comfortable (soft if you like that), the updated bathroom is nice in the master and the view was gorgeous, especially with the sunsets right in front of us from the deck. The only advice I'd give to someone coming would to bring some of the cooking utensils (liquid measuring cups and anything you'd want to put in the microwave) and bring a hair dryer if you need one. The other upstairs bedroom bathroom could use some updating but got the job done.
This place was awesome. Great views and secluded but still within 20 minutes of shopping for additional supplies. Views from the deck are great.
Location was pretty much what we expected. Nice and quiet. Very poor maintenance inside and around the property. Pictures were very misleading.
This home nestled in the woods has a zen-like feel. The back deck that reaches the entire length of the home was a perfect place for relaxing snacks and late-night conversation. The only improvements I would suggest would be washcloths and kitchen towels. Also if you like a lot of pillows you might want to bring some from home. The proximity to Harpers Ferry NP as well as water sports and the Harpers Ferry Brewery make this a perfect spot for your family trip.
Comfy beds, kitchen essentials covered, space for kids to hang out separate from adults. Lots of couches for relaxing. Didn't use the TVs as the view and the wildlife was enough for us. Would definitely come back!
First, let me list the positives: the property is in a gated community, but it’s location and aspect means that it feels quiet and secluded. It has a fabulous balcony with outdoor dining table and chairs, surrounded by trees on a plot that slopes down into forested wilderness, and looking out towards a distant view of the Shenandoah. If you’re into birds, you’ll love it here. You could spend all day just chilling and gazing at the view, visited by deer in the morning and glow worms in the evening. The master bedroom has a large and comfortable bed, a great walk-in closet and an attached bathroom with a good shower and interesting stone mosaic tiling. We were grateful for the thermostat-adjustable air conditioning, the decent Wi-Fi and the large TV in the family room downstairs. A few things to note, however. The cleaning crew had not done a good job, contrary to earlier reviews. In fact, the sheets on the main bed hadn’t been changed, and I suspect neither had the towels. It’s a good thing we were carrying our own sheets because I don’t like sleeping in synthetic, colored sheets. However, the Evolve guest contact was very responsive, and sent someone to clean the following day. There are also laundry facilities available downstairs. Another thing to note, the two bathrooms (one en-suite to the master bedroom) are upstairs. The stairs down are quite steep. I had also packed a couple of clip-on lamps for reading, as bedside lamps are in short supply. Also, bring everything you need for cooking, including basics like salt, pepper, sugar, oil, butter, and herbs and seasonings. Harpers Ferry, the Antietam battlefields, Shepherdstown and various wineries are within reach and worth visiting.
Property was clean with lovely view. Not enough lamps or curtains. It seems the front outdoor lights did not work.
