Blue Bay is a weekly Friday to Friday rental in the summer months. 2 night minimum during the off season. Completely renovated beach front cottage will please everyone! Large sun porch with cozy dining & sitting areas. The 1st floor has a living room with large sofa & chairs with a TV/game area. The new kitchen has an eat-in island.



The dining room seats 6. The 1st floor bathroom has a shower with a seat and the adjoining laundry area leads to a the back deck for a bit of shade, grilling, or quiet time. The 2nd floor has full hall bathroom, master suite with 3/4 bath, bedroom #2 & bedroom #3 both have queen beds. The wet bar area leads outside to a 2nd floor deck overlooking the bay. The 3rd floor includes bedroom #4 with twin beds, bedroom #5 has a double bed. All bedrooms have beautiful views of the bay, TVs, and internet. Grab a towel & cross the street to the bay! Ideal for families.



Guest Access:

We offer convenient door codes for self-check-in. Chesapeake Properties by Portoro uses convenient keyless entry for self check-in, details provided 2 weeks (or less) prior to arrival by email and text message.



• Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.

Cape Charles is located near the southern tip of Virginia’s Eastern Shore right on the Chesapeake Bay. Cape Charles is a small town (the historic area is roughly a six block by six block square) that sits on the peninsula’s western coast… meaning you can sit on the beach in Cape Charles and watch the sunset right over the water. On the Chesapeake Bay, not the Atlantic Ocean, the water is calm and shallow. The picturesque town of Cape Charles is filled with Americana, all about family and beautiful surroundings, voted one of the Happiest Seaside Towns by Coastal Living. - All guests staying at an Chesapeake Properties Vacation Rentals by Portoro (Portoro Homes) are required to sign (esignature) a rental agreement and complete identity registration.

- Age restrictions apply. Reservation holder must be 25 years of age.

- Upon arrival, we aim to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Chesapeake Properties by Portoro directly.

- Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately.

- Before check in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival.

- Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m.

- We cannot guarantee early check ins or late checkouts. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check in or late check out is great, your best option is to book an additional night.

- Some homes have cameras for external monitoring only.

- HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: In the State of Virginia and in Northampton County, all hotel and vacation rental hosts are required to collect hotel tax. We collect these taxes within the booking transaction.

- Some homes offer pools/hot tubs, or access to communal pools. There is no guard around the water features when available. Use at your own risk.

- This is a No Pets property. A daily rate fee of $150.00 will apply for violations and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.

- This is a No Smoking property. Penalty fees for violations will apply and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.

- For the safety of guests and the home, there are noise monitoring devices. These devices only measure the decibel level and do NOT record any audio.



Interaction with Guests:

Our goal is that your vacation exceed your expectations. Chesapeake Properties by Portoro communicates via email and phone. After a booking is confirmed, rental agreement will be emailed to the guest for e-signature. Check-in instructions are sent by email and text message 14 days (or less) prior to arrival date. We offer convenient keyless entry for self-check in. We do typically check in with guests by text 1-2 times during their stays to ensure a 5-star experience and remain available for any questions. We are available to guests 24/7 for any inquiries.

    Home was as described and pictured. Access to the beach was easy and we enjoyed the views from both sunroom and upper deck. Good communication from Management company. Beds were comfy. Nice to have TV in each room. Water temp in showers/bath could use an increase. What would make this home a great find for Fall/winter would be a Firetable outside or an electric fireplace indoors, This would be great for those chilly, cloudy days. The town is small but charming and everyone was super friendly. We have stayed in VRBO homes around the country and would stay here again.

    House was very clean. Beds were comfortable. We were there during an extreme heat situation and the AC worked very well. The location is perfect for walking everywhere which we enjoyed.

    This house is in the perfection location with easy beach access and a quick golf cart ride or short walk from Mason Ave. We had a couple of issues pop up with the house while we were there and the rental company was quick to respond and fix the issues. Would definitely rent again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the second time we stayed at Blue Bay and it was just as wonderful as ever. The house is fantastic for family gatherings. The location right on the beach is the absolute best. The wonderful historic district is within walking/golf carting/biking distance. The house is well maintained and well equipped with a large kitchen and table space for everyone. The upstairs porch overlooks the beach and some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. There are beach chairs and towels and the rental company is the absolute best. They not only include linens but put them on the beds! There are shower and kitchen supplies - you don't have to bring or buy any of that! And then check out is essentially take out the trash and turn off the lights! How easy is that? We LOVE this place and will be back!

The view from the 2nd floor deck was incredible for sunsets. The house was incredibly clean upon arrival and well-appointed, and the beach access right across the street was fantastic. Just one note: don't put any tall people on the 3rd floor as the ceilings are really low. ;-)

The location is the best in Cape Charles and the house is very clean with a stocked kitchen and little amenities you'd find in a hotel. This house pretty much embodies our family vacation, and our kids have grown up coming here. So grateful to the owner for sharing their little slice of heaven each year...the oldest daughter is graduating high school in three summers and I hope we can keep coming back to this house once she's away at college! Love Blue Bay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Blue Bay. The most perfect location one could hope for in Cape Charles! We loved the sunsets on the deck. The house was clean and beautiful. I'm sure the owner will make some of the suggested repairs. It needs a new refrigerator with ice and water. Also the deck floor needs repair. It should be noted that anyone over 6'2 feet should not try to stay on the 3rd floor unless they want to bang their head frequently. Put the kids up there.
