Welcome to where the earth meets the sky and the eagles fly, where you can see forever and the stars are endless. Black Bear Lodge is a 6 bedroom, 5.5 bathroom home in Sapphire Valley. On the main level of this home is 2 of the bedrooms, both maters with king beds. There is another master bedroom, with a king bed, on the second level. The second floor has a den with a TV, a queen bedroom with a bath, and a full bedroom with a bath. The third floor, with two twin beds and trundle beds, is perfect for the kids. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, including two refrigerators, and a bar that sits 3. The laundry room is located just off the kitchen. The living room has a stone fireplace and plenty of seating facing the large windows with a view. Also in the living room are a wet bar, with refrigerator, and a TV. Out on the deck enjoy a meal around the outdoor table!
This home comes with the option to purchase Sapphire Valley Resort amenities. These amenities are not at the home. They are in a separate drive-able location. You may join for $5/day or $25/week per person. Your amenity card will allow access to 2 outdoor swimming pools, Indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, wet sauna, exercise room, arcade, ping pong, pool, outdoor miniature golf, horseshoes, basketball courts, tennis courts, playground, track, picnic tables, community center, organized excursions to Cherokee and the Biltmore House in Asheville, a 9 hole (par 3) golf course, Fairfield Lake boating amenities and discounts on lift tickets and rentals during the winter season. Specific to this home - you will also get a discount at the Sapphire National 18-hole golf course, provided number attached to check-in package.
Your reservation includes a damage protection plan. The damage protection plan is $40, and it covers up to $3,000 in damages. In lieu of purchasing the damage protection plan, guests have the option to choose a refundable security deposit. If you would like to pay a refundable security deposit, please contact us. The security deposit is $3,000 and will be administered subject to the NC Tenant Security Deposit Act.
My extended family stayed in this house through the new year. The house is big and there are several different areas for groups to gather and play games, watch TV, etc. The views from the multiple decks were incredible. The gas fireplaces worked well, and the outdoor fire pit with stocked wood was wonderful. The management company made it easy to check in and check out.
We had a wonderful stay at this house for a last minute family getaway. The house design allowed for groups to have plenty of space and room to spread out. The game room downstairs was a HUGE hit with the kiddos. Wifi was strong for the area and the kitchen was well stocked for our needs. Only complaint / request would be for more seating on the lovely porch to enjoy the view! Would rent again!
The house is as described with 6 bedroom/5 bath and is great for a large family or multiple families. 3 master suites which is nice. Lots of room and close to the town of Cashiers. Incredible views. The only negative was the renovations that were underway. Looks like there are new owners and they are making improvements. Didnt bother us but I can see where this may bother the tenant looking for perfection.
We are accustomed to renting properties for our group and were very disappointed in the cleanliness and accommodations. We had 8 adults and outside there was a table and four chairs. This house had 6 bedrooms and it was so surprising to see the lack of outdoor seating. A couple of the bathrooms were dirty with toothpaste and hair in the sinks, and one closet had no light bulb. The porch windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Dead flowers were left in the dining room. The newel posts had so much dust, you could write your name in them. You would of thought with COVID being so prevalent, extra attention would have paid to those areas. We contacted the management and they tried to get someone to come and clean, but it was going to be 2 days, so we said never mind. We. Leaned it ourselves. We were given a garage door opener, it didn’t work. We met the neighbor and were told there was a cleaning crew there most of the day. Not sure what they did. The bar area had absolutely nothing in it. No wine glasses, no drink glasses and no wine or bottle openers.
It was easy to rent the house and the property was nice except the cleanliness of the house was not great. It had not been dusted and shower curtains and mildew you on them . The towels and sheets smelled musty and moldy. We found damp towels in the dryer that had been in there for a while because it made the laundry room and kitchen area smell musty as well. The kitchen did not have enough dishes for as many rooms is that house is capable of holding.. The refrigerator and the great room was full of ice it had melted and refrozen. The refrigerator in the laundry room had been unplugged and smelled of mold and mildew. The kitchen refrigerator had mildew around the door. The house was a great house, just not well cared for as far as upkeep.
Wonderful spot for family vacation. The best views and very well equipped kitchen.
Had a wonderful time . The home was plenty big enough to accommodate all 10 of us. Plenty of room to do things as a group but yet one could have some peace and quiet if you wanted to. Kitchen well stock with dishes and utensils. Linda Barden from Landmark Vacation Rentals is AWESOME. She was very helpful from the beginning of the booking process til check out. The one criticism is that there is not much “ stuff “ in the house . Such as games ,movies and books about the local area. Overall though , we had a Wonderful time .
Property was ideal for 12 adults, bathrooms privacy available for every couple. Views of mountains were great.
