Chihuahua Flats is a 4BR, 3BA beach house located just off the quiet west end of Scenic Highway 30A in the gated community of Old Florida Village, between Blue Mountain Beach and Gulf Place. You’ll be steps from one of the community pools and about 700 yards to beach access! This home boasts an open floor plan with new flooring on the main level, comfortable furnishings, and a fully equipped kitchen with granite counters. There’s a queen guest bedroom and full bath on the main level. Upstairs, the 3 bedrooms include a gorgeous king master with en suite bath and balcony access, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a bunk room with 2 sets of twin bunk beds, and a sleeper sofa in living room sleeping a total of 12 guests comfortably! The Gulf Place community is located along a 26-mile stretch of sugar-white sand and turquoise waters of Northwest Florida’s celebrated Emerald Coast. As one of the 16 distinct beach neighborhoods in South Walton, it has its own distinct character and charm. This colorful community on 30A is comprised of 25 acres located in the heart of Santa Rosa Beach on the corner of 30A and 393. The snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Seahorse Reef, deployed in 2017. Located just 715 feet out from the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park access, it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Seahorse Reef is at a depth of 13-18 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

    Ive stayed in dozens of vacation rentals. This one was a little disappointing. Cockroaches downstairs. I did receive a email that said there would be light accommodations but I didn’t expect what we walked into. One dish towel. One roll of paper towels. (7 night stay). Absolutely nothing was there for routine things. No laundry pods, no Lysol wipes, no aluminum foil, no extra trash bags, etc. No extra blanket for couch sleeping. Location and check in/check out was great, though.

    This is a wonderful location! Close to the action (walking distance) but not in the middle of everything so it the perfect location to relax. The description is spot on, and I would absolutely stay here again.

    We absolutely loved this rental! The house was clean and the location is great!! They had all the kitchen ware you will need during your stay. My kids loved the bikes that were provided with the property. There were even beach chairs and beach cart. I would absolutely rent this property again. Santa Rosa beach is beautiful and relaxing!!

    Great location, was a little off on distance to beach, it says 700 yards but you have to walk awhile to get to a beach access. But other than that it was great!

    Perfect size house in perfect location. Short walk to the beach, restaurants and Gulf Place. The bike helped a lot getting around. We biked to Seaside which was great. Loved that it was not busy and trafficy around the area. Will definitely be back. We brought additional TP, paper towels, dishwasher pods. Grill could of been better. It took awhile to cook burgers and chicken due to the lack of flame the grill provided. A larger frying pan would of been great but we are do with what was available. Chihuahua Flats will forever hold great memories for our group. Would book again for sure!

    For the most part, the rental property was ok. Initial supplies were provided, linens were mostly clean, and we enjoyed riding the bikes. Unfortunately, during our first full day there, we were having lunch at the dining table and randomly a HUGE living roach fell from the air vent onto the table. Needless to say, lunch was over. So I took a picture of the roach and air vent and sent an email with pics attached- hoping to have someone come out and spray so we would make sure no other “uninvited guests” appeared. I did receive an email that evening from Stormii at RealJoy asking if it was ok to have someone come by the next day. I responded saying it was fine. But no one ever stopped by. When I emailed that evening, someone else responded saying that Stormii was out of office all day. So I asked if someone would still stop by…..I never received another response. And no one ever came by during the rest of our stay. This is really disappointing. While I completely understand that roaches will appear and it can’t always be prevented, I am incredibly disappointed in the lack of response. Actions speak louder than words. And if RealJoy doesn’t want to respond to me then you don’t want my business going forward. It is unlikely that we will be making reservation with RealJoy again. Wish it were a different experience.

    This house was perfect for our fun little getaway with our daughters. We came prepared based on previous reviews but there ended up being 2 beach chairs on the porch, salt and pepper, and a handful of dishwasher pods. Definitely bring extra toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, and beach towels. We couldn’t find a cutting board which would have been nice but other than that we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The pools were great and the beach was about a 10 minute walk. The only thing we would have changed was the temperature at night. It got very warm in the upstairs bedrooms but you can only turn down the ac to 70. Other than that it was a great spot. We would stay here again.

    This is a very spacious home that is super close to everything. Our family really enjoyed riding the bicycles that were provided as well as the Yahtzee game. Weather was amazing so we walked to local brewery, restaurants and ice cream shops. The beds were very comfortable and overall our family had a nice relaxing weekend over the Christmas holidays. Only recommendation would be the overall supplies. Like noted in other reviews there is NOTHING provided. Just make sure that you are bringing coffee filters, extra toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags and beach towels. Although it didn't change my review because I knew this going in based off other reviews, as a VRBO host myself it is always nice to have the extra things provided.
