Sleeps 14 is a stretch! The futon is in an alcove and is extremely uncomfortable. Room with murphy bed and bunks pretty crowded for adults only. Other rooms were good. Lots of space to spread out for a week of extended family time. We really appreciated the fans with the unexpected hot temps at the beach for a couple of days. Kitchen well stocked and easy to use. Owner was very responsive to helping deal with an empty propane tank for the bbq. Lots of towels and bedding. Great location.
This was our 2nd time staying here, we love how fun & unique the house is. The view of the beach at sunset from the hot tub is amazing. Our kids live in the play room. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. We look forward to our stay each time.
We do wish the gathering space would have had a better layout. We were all adults so harder to sit comfortably. Some bed’s definitely need replacing and updating throughout is needed. But we had a great time and had much laughter. Thank you!
I went with a group of seven women and we all loved the place but there are some things you should know. First, it was clean but worn and dated. Second, there is no easy access to the beach. You need to go through the neighborhood, up and down hills for .66 miles (according to my Apple watch) or go down a path that says “no trespassing” and is a little (or a lot depending on your physical abilities) precarious. Third, the place is very well stocked and has everything we needed. Fourth, the view from the deck and the sound of the waves was priceless. Fifth, you could walk to town and Manzanita was delightful! We all agreed we would stay here again.
Great property expect it was advertised as 5 bedroom which wasn't the case. One very small room could not accommodate 2 adults.
This house is run down; literal duct tape is holding it together in places. From the carpet to the hot tub, it is in poor shape and it’s disappointing. A non-exhaustive list of examples: on the underside of the hot tub cover it’s held together with duct tape, the hot tub is missing all the head rests, the outlets in the kitchen are entirely rusted as is the heating vent in the bathroom, the curtains in the bunk room are ripped apart at the top, curtains in the master ripped and duct taped at the bottom, the carpet is worn thin everywhere, the deck picnic table is peeling and splintery, screens are missing from the entryway windows, the game room bedroom’s dresser drawers will not stay shut, and the interior and exterior are in desperate need of paint and hole patching. You may think these are small insignificant things but when you out an exhaustive list together, overall the place feels sad, grungy, and disappointing for the price tag. It’s clear Vacasa/owners does not spend even the smallest amount of money to keep this house up. On top of that, Vacasa only provides “a starter set” of paper towels and toilet paper which, when you consider the cost per night, you’d expect at least an adequate supply for the number of people staying and number of nights booked. The “fifth bedroom” is basically a large under stairs closet with a horribly uncomfortable futon. The glass on the deck fence is so dirty a clear view is only achievable by standing. Lastly, checkin and out is less convenient than many other rentals I’ve stayed at - here you have to physically drive into town to pickup and drop off the keys. The view of the beach is spectacular which is likely why Vacasa can still rent this house despite its current state. The kitchen is well stocked with tools and dishes. The beds, besides the futon are comfortable. The location is pretty good because it’s a dead end and in a quiet neighborhood (except for construction). We are booking elsewhere for our annual vacation to Manzanita due to the condition of the house.
A very nice house with a great view. Very well equipped. Original ad indicated that there was beach access; this was no longer available. Game room had a chemical smell and the fold out bed from the couch was very lumpy.
This is a summer beach house with an interesting but functional layout. We hit some hot still weather so it would have been nice if they had some ceiling fans in all of the rooms which would have cooled things down a lot.
The views from the balcony and main living spaces are amazing. There was a lot of places for people to sleep. The hot tub was an awesome place to unwind at the end of busy days exploring. The house is showing it’s age. There are screens missing from most of the windows. Blinds are broken in several areas in the house. The furniture is well used and not especially comfortable. Without the windows open the house gets really stuffy. It is a great place for a family to gather with a few querks.
This was a great house to stay in for our 2 family's that were visiting the area. Access to the beach isn't a huge problem. You are on the side of a steep hill, but walking to the beach is possible. 2 minute drive to the beach if you want. The house is huge, plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The house was also well stocked.
The hosts are clearly very nice people. When they learned the hot tub had been broken during our entire stay, they simply sent us a refund, and it was generous. View from the kitchen, deck and living room is top notch. plenty of common space - multiple couches, comfy chairs, big dining room table made having a big family gathering really good. Lots of extra blankets and pillows, too. great kitchen A few of the bed arrangements could be a bit improved. the murphy bed/bunk bed room is too crowded, the pullout couch mattress is awful. the futon mattress is awful. my guess is they will fix these soon. the property manager, sunset vacation rentals, were AWESOME. helped us with checkin and checkout, both of which we asked for early/late and they were able to accomodate us.
