Leadville, Colorado
Beautifully remodeled and sunshine-filled 800 s.f. miner's cabin. 1 block from Harrison Ave (main street) with 3 comfy beds (1 queen, 1 full, 1 twin trundle) and 1 large bathroom. Spacious living room with vaulted ceiling and mountain views. All furniture and the bathroom fixtures are current -- you won't find any of the lumpy couches or mattresses that are often a little-too-charming hallmark of some older vacation homes. And the radiant heat under the beautiful wood floors warm the place right up in colder months. The eat-in kitchen is stocked with all you'd need to make a great meal. Sun streams in from the south and west-facing windows and makes the front porch a great spot for morning coffee or evening drinks almost any time of year. Only one block from the finish of the LT100 and two blocks from the 12-mile Mineral Belt Trail -- paved for biking in summer and groomed for XC skiing in winter. This little house is perfect for a getaway to the mountains for a family, group of friends, or couples.
We want our guests to know exactly what they're getting (a wonderfully updated, comfortable, and relaxing getaway), so although these things are noted elsewhere in this property description, we wanted to repeat here a few full disclosures re: things folks tend to ask about:
CHECK-IN/OUT: Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 11am. Earlier/later may be possible but you'll have to check with us just beforehand.
DOG GUESTS: We will consider one extremely well behaved dog guest who will not be left unattended/uncrated in the home. Be sure to include the pet in the reservation request and send us your pitch about why s/he will be the best guest ever. There is a $50 pet fee per stay.
WIFI/CABLE/TV: The house is equipped with wifi but not cable. No televisions are included. We like to keep it low tech and peaceful for us and our guests.
PARKING: Parking is on the street within the City of Leadville. Like any city parking, it can be a little competitive at times, particularly in the winter. Nonetheless, guests usually can get a spot in front of or alongside the home.
LONGER STAYS: We offer a 5% discount for weekly stays, and 10% for monthly stays.
EXTRA GUEST FEES AND PRICE NEGOTIATION: For each guest over two guests, there is a $25/night extra guest fee. We are unable to negotiate on the price, but we do 2-for-1 on kids under 18 and we waive the extra guest fee for children aged 3 and under.
SMOKING: No smoking of tobacco, weed, or anything else is permitted in the house or on the property, including the back patio, the front deck, or the yard. Evidence of smoking is grounds for losing the damage deposit.
WOOD STOVE: For potential damage, extra required cleaning, and insurance reasons, we're sorry but the wood stove is not available for use by guests.
This spot is just so, so cozy with a historic feel and great proximity to shops and restaurants. The beds were comfy with lots of extra blankets around and a really well equipped kitchen. We just loved our stay here and will be trying to book this spot every time we come to ski at Cooper!
Beautiful cabin perfectly located! Everything is as stated or better! From the cabin we commuted to Copper Mountain and explored some cross country skiing tracks… Great time!
I loved my stay at this beautifully restored older home just steps from the main street of Leadville! The house has many historic touches, as well as all the modern amenities (such as a big bathroom with wonderful shower, and modern kitchen that's fully equipped and outfitted.) Though very close to the heart of town, the location was very quiet. The owner was helpful and speedy in her responses. Overall, a wonderful place to stay!
It was a very pleasant experience
This delightful home was perfectly located within walking distance of everything we wanted to do in Leadville! I loved all the history evident in this old miner’s cottage. Fabulous stay!
This was the perfect little house to rent in Leadville! The house was so cute and charming. The location is perfect walking distance to all the little shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!
We had some difficulty getting lockbox open to get house key but maybe it was just us. It was easy to get in touch with homeowner. Caretaker brought over a fan immediately when we told her one of the two was not working. She also explained about the adjustable window screens in each bedroom to get in the cool night air. This completely updated, spacious and comfortable old miner's home was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed the neighborhood, the short walk to the main street and visiting the many interesting historical sites in Leadville.
House was clean, comfortable, and in a great location! Will be returning soon!
Mother, daughter and 17-mos granddaughter. Loved the cottage, and loved its proximity to downtown Leadville and its restaurants, etc. Easy drives to pleasant hikes. Also a lovely (2 hour) drive to Aspen and day at Maroon Bells (make a shuttle reservation!). Our first time to Leadville and may be back. Host’s local manager, Brandi, was lovely and helpful.
Excellent accommodations for two guys on a ski trip. The house could have also slept 2 kids in the loft. Great location in a fun little town, about 50 minutes from Keystone, Vail and Breck. The Property was great and the town was fun.
Perfect base for our little getaway. The location was the best for strolling around town, hitting the Mineral Belt Trail, or heading up to Tennessee Pass/Cooper. The cottage was clean, well-appointed, and cozy. And a shout out for the robes! In my opinion, one of the easiest ways to elevate a stay is with a comfy robe. A very nice touch, especially after a long ski day. Thanks!
Nice place to stay. Just 15-20 minutes from Cooper Mountain. Store is close by. If you have kids just bring your iPad and games.
This little house has everything you need for a visit to Leadville. The location is excellent! Just park and spend your time walking to Main Street. The property is clean, cheerful, and gets wonderful natural light. Total gem!
We loved our stay in Leadville. Charming home that met our needs with great proximity to Harrison Ave.
This adorable, historic home is just within walking distance of the Main Street Auth lots of shops and restaurants. Cute houses all around. This house had comfortable couches and beds, fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, and awesome bathroom. The only complaint we have is the need for fans in the rooms. There was one fan for one of the bedrooms but not for the other. It was unseasonably higher temps when we were there but got a great breeze when the front and back door was open. If we go back to Leadville, we will stay there again! Just with an extra fan :)
The house and furnishings are basic, good for touring the town, which can be done in an afternoon. Had to rewash glasses before use, so pretty basic. Beds are good for a couple nights, but probably uncomfortable for a longer stay.
The home was lovely and comfortable. It was in a safe area to walk my dog.
