This holiday apartment is set in a private complex, with a pleasant garden and 2 swimming pools; one for adults and one for children. This bright, daylight filled, ground floor apartment is locatednear the beach and the centre of the village of Alvor, one of the most beautiful and quiet areas in the Algarve. Accommodation comprises one bedroom with a double bed, living room with dining and sitting areas and a settee, full bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The living room area has air conditioning that also functions for heating and as dehumidifier. The outdoor patio has an area of 7.5m2 next to the garden and pools. This privileged location offers easy access by foot to the beach and town for restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy and the Private Hospital of Alvor. The apartment is cleaned for incoming guests and once a week thereafter, with change of bed linen and towels.

The Algarve & Alvor: The Algarve has a temperate climate almost all year round and boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year. The tourist season extends from March to October and it only really quiets down in the dead of winter. The wonderful sandy beaches of the Algarve are unspoilt and amongst the finest in the world. Away from the tourist hub, explore the quaint unspoilt villages with their narrow cobbled streets, the Ria de Alvor, the majestic Serra de Monchique or the rugged beauty of the South Westerly tip of Europe, Sagres and Cape St Vincent. Water sports such as swimming, snorkeling and big-game fishing are popular along the Algarve coast, as are boat trips exploring the caves and grottoes. Several water parks and theme parks will ensure that the children never get bored.

Local food: Local markets sell an abundance of goods at bargain prices. Restaurants and bars vie for business and the food is delicious and served in huge quantities. Most restaurants have charcoal grills, turning out some of the best barbecued food you're ever likely to taste, such as freshly caught fish, chicken piri-piri and mouth-watering steaks and kebabs. Enjoy cheap local wines, jug full of Sangria and freshly squeezed local orange juice.

    We are regulars to Vila da Praia and find the complex in a great location ideal for Alvor centre this is a nice property but does need a bit of updating ironing board rusty, holes in the walls where wall lights originally were towels need replacing the position of this apartment you do get a lot of road noise when sitting out.

    We had a very good experience with this property. Paula was very helpful and always available when needed. We were early with checking in and Paula allowed us to drop our bags in and we went for lunch. I would highly recommend this property and location.

    Stayed at this complex before good impression just needs a little TLC as it nears the end of a season outside lights need to be working no parasols supplied at poolside just a few little niggles as would stay there again

    (Oct 2010): Well-positioned apartment on ground floor, close to beach, shops & centre of village (10 min walk up hill). Modern build, clean (slight smell of lingering cigarettes in bedroom), with neutral Swedish homestore decor and mod-cons - though perhaps bring extra bedlinen and towels if you like more than 1 pillow each or enough fresh towels for your stay. DVD player is a nice touch, but TV channels limited. Would be perfect for family or couples/ sharing. Very helpful agent to meet and greet you on arrival. Slightly noisy road outside that is used by early morning council workers (bin lorries, etc) and late night revellers. Good restaurants nearby include Busio, Caneco and Vagabondos. Supermarkets are very expensive locally (If you like a cuppa in the morning, bring your own tea/coffee as local prices are extortionate), but there are other cheaper stores in Portamao (15 mins by car). Plenty of places to visit by car on day trips - find the secret garden in Caldos, for example. Beach nearby has boardwalks which are perfect for prams & wheelchairs. Overall, comfortable stay for a very quiet break.

    My husband and I stayed in Paulo's apartment for 10 nights and found it to be very clean and spacious. We ate out in the evenings but the kitchen appeared to be well stocked with pans,utensils etc if guests wished to prepare an evening meal. The agent Jose, was very pleasant and helpful and the apartment , towels and bedding were all very clean. We have stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on Vila da Praia before, so knew all about the complex. We still think that it is in an excellent position in Alvor, being handy for the town, beach and marina. The pool is very good and the gardens well maintained. This apartment is well positioned in the complex having easy access through automatic gates, if you have a car, as we did. The rear patio and grassed area are in a quiet spot just round the corner from the pool. All in all, an excellent choice, I'm sure we'll be staying here again.

    Have recently returned after spending a great week in Alvor. The holiday apartment was excellent. We have a 2 year old and it proved ideal for our stay. Apartment block and pool are very nice and the location is excellent in terms of beach, promenade and shops/restaurants. Also airport pickup and return was excellent and very good value.

    We enjoyed our two weeks and were very happy with the apartment, we will use it again, its ideal with young children, very safe and very clean. Paulo was very helpful before booking and during stay. Only a short walk into the main town and the beach.

    Just a quick note to say thankyou Paulo for such a wonderful apartment, it really was a home away from home. Very spacious, clean and all the mod cons you would need. On top of this great spot close to the pool - essential when you have a toddler! Complex very handy to the centre of Alvor - 5 mins walk. Would not hesitate to recommend this to friends and family (just not in June as we will be coming back!) Paulo very helpful - orgainsed taxi etc for us. Thanks again from myself and my family!
