Beautiful Home on 24 acre setting, private mountain, creek, Close to Downtown

The host is very communicative prior to our visit. The house has a lot of space and while we were only a small family, I can see how it would be well-suited for a larger family or group.

Large, beautiful home located in a peaceful area just outside of Durango. This house has a lovely open great room with living room, kitchen and dining in one large space which made it very accommodating for us. We were in town for a cousins’ reunion and the size of the great room allowed us to comfortably host a dinner one evening for 13 without feeling crowded. The bedrooms and bathrooms were located on three levels which allowed for privacy and quiet. During our stay we were entertained nightly by the wild turkeys that wandered through the property and we had a beautiful little fox come up on the deck on evening. Very nice place to stay.

This is a really great house with stunning views. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us, and the kids enjoyed the game room downstairs. We had fun exploring the property and we even saw some deer and wild turkeys. The house is less than 10 minutes from town, so it’s a very convenient location. Chris was very helpful. We had a great time staying here!

We had a great stay in Durango. The house was beautiful on a beautiful piece of property! We enjoyed the creek and sitting on the porch enjoying the view of the mountain. The house had plenty of room for our whole family to cook and eat together. We especially appreciated that the living room had comfortable recliners because it was NBA playoff season and we had games to watch! Go Thunder!!

The house was wonderful and clean. Chris was very helpful and accommodating! The property is beautiful. We really enjoyed being able to enjoy the land around the house and the creek running through it. The proximity to town was great!

The house was beautiful as well as the property that is on. You have mountain views all around. It was awesome. Chris, the host was easy to contact with any questions we had. There are many things to do in the area. Would definitely like to go back.

This was a wonderful place for a three-generation family vacation and celebration (graduations from high school, law school, birthday, and upcoming anniversary). (Ages 18 to 80). Durango is our family’s happy place, to which at least some of us have returned multiple times. We know the Durango area well. This property was a great location: beautiful valley, nice views, and only 10 minutes from downtown. The house accommodated eight of us very well, although we could have used two more dining table chairs. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well equipped (kinives could be sharper, and a couple of serving bowls would be welcome). Otherwise, all was good. Enjoyed the wildlife outdoors. Turkeys, deer, and more! Communication with owner/manager was excellent. We would definitely return.

Our family couldn't have been happier with our stay at this property. The one common thread that kept coming up was the awesome location. You seem like you are so remote, yet less that a 10 minute drive to downtown Durango. It was in the high 80's in Durango, but consistently cooler in with the breezes coming down the valley. The sleeping arrangements for our family group of 8 was perfect. Well appointed, clean property. Excellent communication with Chris, the owner. No doubt we will be back!

We enjoyed the rustic location on Lightner Creek, so peaceful and relaxing, yet not far from town. The house was clean and spacious and Chris was an excellent host.

Great house in a great location and we had a wonderful time in Durango! That said, there is a trailer park next door, that you can see when pulling into the house but not when you are at the house. We could hear some noise (music/work) on the weekend coming from there but it was not enough to bother us. Also, I was under the impression that the house was secluded on 24 acres. It is not, you can see the neighbors houses. Again, not a big deal, I was just surprised to see them. The house is great and accommodated our needs. Beds and pillows very comfortable. The house is conveniently located about 10 minutes from downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

This house is beautiful! Very well kept and had everything we were wanting for our family vacation. Plenty of space both inside and out. Close to downtown for train, restaurants and shopping.
