Newly renovated two bedroom apartment in townhouse building close to Convention Center and Capital One arena. Accessible to all DC attractions. Private entrance to apartment. Private parking spot in back of building included. Washer and dryer in unit. Apartment has full kitchen with cooking utensils. The tub has Jacuzzi jets for relaxation. Perfect for business travelers or for families looking for the conveniences of home.
The property is well located relative to the M for transit. There is a Safeway just two blocks away as well. The only critical statements I can give you are in two areas- The mattress in the primary bedroom needs help- it is noisy and saggy- easily dealt with. Same with the living room furniture-also easily remedied. 2nd area- there is not much (if any) sound-deadening between this basement unit and the upstairs unit. If the upstairs neighbors would not wear shoes it’d be fine. We would definitely stay there again.
This property was advertised as a five star property. It was not. Great location and that was it.
This is a basement apartment which is not listed in the listing. There are no extra security bolts to lock the 2 exit doors and that was not great because the neighborhood was OK, but near some not so great areas. The apartment needs to be aired out and thoroughly cleaned. I cleaned the bathroom myself because it was not well cleaned. The bedding and towels smelled musty. We brought our own sheets and blankets luckily. Overall the location was good, but I would advise using the Mount Vernon metro location, not Chinatown. The Chinatown metro is in a terrible area.
I myself did not stay at this accomadation. I sent my Wife and daughter to DC ofr the weekend. The owner of this property waw exreamly respnsive. There is designated parking, and in DC that is cluch! My wife says that the accomidations where nice, clean, and the check in process was seamless. They felt safe and cufertable while they where there. All in all a great place to lay your head and take a break while you are running around the DMV going to museumes and taking in the sites! Over all I give them a 5 *****!!!
Stayed with a small group of friends visiting the city. Great location. 5 minutes walk from Mt. Vernon Sq Metro station. Literally two minutes walk (if that) from grocery store. Also a handful of dining options within reasonable walking distance. I have to agree with a previous review on the futon. If it's not broken, it has seen better days. Generally, the furnishings and bedding aren't fancy, but certainly adequate and comfortable. Kitchen has new appliances and is otherwise well-equipped. When factoring in key considerations - price, location, accommodations/amenities - I'd say this is a good value for those who want a home base for DC sightseeing.
Easy access to all monuments! Love it
I booked this apartment as a place for my wife and three daughters to crash after a long day of exploring DC. It served the purpose. The best parts were the price, location, and layout were great. The bathroom, specifically, and the bedding just didn't feel clean. The bed, especially the master one, is SO LOUD. It wasn't much of an issue because we were walking 30,000 steps a day and I am pretty sure I could have slept on concrete. The sheets BADLY need replaced. It would make everything feel cleaner. The sheets were pilled and even ripped in spots. The bathroom could be cleaned better, sort of just grime in places that it shouldn't have been if you have someone clean your place. The futon is broken but other furniture is adequate for what we needed. Really close to the Metro and restaurants. The kids loves the Metro. I didn't reach out to the owner but he was super informative before and I just wasn't sure what he could have done for us anyway.
Cute place within walking distance of DC attractions and grocery store
I chose this property based on pictures and location when booking. The location was fantastic and the description was accurate. The pictures were kinda accurate, the furniture and layout was what was accurate. What the pictures can't show is how old and unconformable the beds and furniture are! For example the pillows for the bed were really flat and old and you can tell the years and years of use. The sheets were pilly and rough, again you can tell they have not been replaced for awhile. the bathroom had mold in the tub and areas of the tile, and lastly the towels were thin and tiny, no bathmat was provided. We left after night 1 and stayed at the Hampton Inn down the block. The beds were the deciding point, feeling the springs and when you turned in bed it would echo throughout the space. I did not reach out to the property owner as nothing could be done at our time of stay, it really was just a personal preference. I did use the parking spot during my stay, it was convenient to have the parking in that part of town.
Location is close to metro and so that’s great and close to a grocery store. The good ends there. The entire place is furnished with items I wouldn’t give to a college student. The beds were literally the worst beds I have ever slept in in my entire life. My husband agrees and so do my 22 year old and 14 year old. The pillows were a joke. I emailed the owner and his response was that there were more pillows in the closet. No, there weren’t. The silverware selection was hideous. Good luck finding a normal spoon to eat with. The couches; well that’s a generous term for them. Three love seats, all second hand and horrible. The tv in the primary bedroom is falling off the wall. The tv in the main living space is way too small for the space. I dreaded going to bed due to the nature of the mattresses. Literally could feel springs.
This apartment worked well as a base camp for a week-long homeschool field trip with our 4 teens. We were able to walk to the National Mall museums & White House. We even walked to the Spy Museum one morning. We loaded up at Costco and cooked all our meals in the kitchen. Safeway is right around the corner for any extra stuff we needed. The one day we had to take the metro was when we went to the zoo. But the metro station was only a 15 minute walk away. There are many interesting restaurants & coffee shops within walking distance as well. The beds were a bit too small to get my teens to share with each other. So one slept on the futon and another on an air mattress.
This is a basement apartment in a brownstone. There are windows in the front looking out at the street. There is a window in the kitchen area and one in the back bedroom. The back door opens into a short alley that leads to the parking spot. There was plenty of room for 3 adults. It was very quiet. There is a Metro station one and a half blocks away. A Safeway is also a block and a half away. It is located right at Chinatown. We felt very safe. We walked to the National Mall the first day and took the Metro everywhere else. I would definitely stay there again.
