While there was a small drive to get to most things like golf, the beach and restaurants, it was not an inconvenience. We also took advantage of the Dunes Buggy service a few times which was great. We loved dining at the Dunes House when at the beach and dinner at Alexanders was especially good. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay at Palmetto Dunes.

While the pool was fantastic and the house layout was great, there were a few surprises. The pictures Kayaks and lagoon were off limits, chained shut? The tvs had no cable but required subscriptions and the front and back door latches would not close. You had to use the deadbolt to keep doors closed or locked. The staff did respond to a request for propane and the house was clean and spacious. We would definitely return and the beach shuttles were awesome!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, this was a fantastic trip. We used Dunes Buggy Transportation several times. The house was as described and pictures are true. The pool was very nice. There is plenty of room for two families to stay and not feel like they are on top of each other. Located at the front of Palmetto Dunes one should expect to hear emergency vehicle sirens multiple times throughout the day and night. However, you can not hear other road noise. It’s a very nice area to walk or ride bikes. As with every PD rental we have stayed in, it could use a thorough cleaning. There is a leak under the kitchen sink. We had to call maintenance out due to the downstairs bathroom door nearly off of the hinges (held on by one screw) and because the outside outlet didn’t work. The outlet next to the blue cabinet in the kitchen also has a short in it. Sometimes it would work and other times it would not. Maintenance did not find that the outside outlet had tripped the breaker. We assume it has a short like the kitchen outlet.

The house itself has so much potential and the new pool is so pretty but absolutely filthy inside. 90+ photos we submitted upon check in- mold in the rooms along the baseboards, all utensils in kitchen dirty, beds made inside out (assuming they just flipped the sheets), pool was filthy, couldn’t walk without shoes, stove didn’t work, had no ac the unit was broke (it was august we stayed). Told by the office that someone would be out to address all issues but no one ever came, we slept in the clothes we drove in, had to book another rental with another company, had to fight to get our money back. The staff in palmetto dunes office are absolutely the rudest humans I’ve encountered and if I could warn anyone it’s to never stay with them. They tried to move us to another property the next day that had BLOOD all over the furniture cushions and trash stuck everywhere and was 2 grand less than the 5 we had paid to stay. Horrible experience.
