Stayed Feb 6, 2025Giselle's house is wonderful! The location is so private and peaceful, I really fell in love with this part of Mexico. Giselle and her husband were wonderful hosts. The water in front of the house is amazing, the only other place that I have seen water so clear and beautiful is in the south pacific. I did not have a car however it was easy to get there and there are many mototaxis in the area to go around to different places. I would love to come back again!

Stayed Mar 21, 2023The House and property made for a wonderful first time in Mexico trip for my whole family. The house was very cozy and the beach access was wonderful. Giselle and her husband were extremely helpful in scheduling a fishing trip which we enjoyed immensely. And were always available to answer any of our questions. The house is in a great location for visiting the Mayan Ruins and Cenotes.

Stayed Feb 25, 2023If what you are looking for is a sun-soaked, white sand, coconut-groved, private, quiet, peaceful, fully-equipped cottage vacation by the Gulf of Mexico, this is for you. We can not say more about how de-stressed we felt within 24 hours of arriving. This isn’t what I would call five-star, but I would call it a perfect cottage by the Gulf.

Stayed Feb 14, 2023Had a lovely time here. We stayed just over a week and spent the time relaxing on the porch that faces the ocean, swimming in the pool, searching for shells and fishing. Giselle and Carlos met us at the house and walked us through everything we needed to know (even though we didn’t get there until late!). We rented a van so we could do some exploring and visited ruins, cenotes and the beautiful yellow city of Izamal. Telchac Puerto is a charming town with friendly people and a few good restaurants. We went in to Merida to get most of our groceries but many of the day to day things we needed were readily available right in town. This area is not too touristy, so we never felt crowded on the beach. Good idea to brush up on your Spanish if it isn’t your primary language because you will mostly be interacting with people who speak minimal English in the stores and restaurants. We ate several meals at Sea Friends and really enjoyed their ceviche, guacamole and coconut shrimp. Also, their wait staff were warm and friendly. After hearing that my husband and son are avid fishermen, Giselle and Carlos worked to find a local fishing guide and they were able to go on two half-day fishing excursions when we were there for a great price. We had an absolutely lovely time. If I had it to do over I would probably stay a day or two closer to Mérida because it was a good 2.5 hour drive (one way) to the bigger cenotes and ruins. But, if you’re looking for a laid back beach house and need a place to unwind, this is it. Thanks so much for your hospitality and attention, Giselle and Carlos! ❤️

Stayed Dec 26, 2022Giselle and Carlos were exceedingly kind and helpful hosts, and we had an amazing time at their beautiful property. You absolutely cannot beat the location. Plumbing was a little tricky, and hot water in the kitchen would have been appreciated, but we had such a great trip regardless. Never needed the air conditioner with the breeze, made friends with the resident iguana, walked on the beach for miles in both directions. A fantastic family vacation.

Stayed Aug 22, 2022This amazing property reminded me of the old Corona beer commercials that used to run on TV showing a house in Mexico in a beautiful tranquil location on the beach surrounded by palm trees. The sunsets here are unforgettable. There is a large pool next to the house in the coconut palm grove. The property itself is large and interesting to explore. The views from every room are spectacular. Blue water lapping up against the shore framed and partially shaded, but not obscured by the palm trees. There are a lot of places on the house's beach for chilling. There is the nice big table on the large covered patio, comfortable a reclined rocking chair, a padded lounge, and several reclined lounges right at the seaside. I rarely saw or heard another person and at never at night. Being located away from major cities, there is little light pollution so you have a sky filled with stars and the Milky Way is visible. You have all the conveniences you need in the house and considering the semi-off-grid location I was amazed that the wifi internet was as fast as I needed to do anything. The beds are comfortable and AC more than adequate. The town Telchac Puerto is old-school Mexico, not yet overrun with tourist making for a much nicer and more interesting visit. Yet if you look a bit you can find everything you need there. I can't wait to go back.

Stayed Jan 18, 2022This property was perfectly located for us to visit Mayan ruins, numerous cenotes, and immerse in the history of Yucatán. Its location right on the beach was also perfect for those days when we chose to relax, walking miles along the water and collecting shells. The kitchen was well supplied for us to cook at home, though we found some very good restaurants nearby. Giselle and Carlos were very gracious hosts for our extended stay.

Stayed Mar 29, 2020I am rescheduling my stay for later in the year. Giselle has been very gracious on the phone and has reassured me that I can reschedule without any penalty. I am very happy about that and can't wait to finalize the reschedule.
