Saranac Lake, New York
Camp Arrowhead is a private three bedroom camp nestled on the shores of Lake Flower. With a convenient road access location, Saranac Lake is a five minute drive and Lake Placid just 10 minutes away. Enjoy the serenity of nature and lakefront living while sipping a cup of coffee on the spacious deck, sitting around a cozy Adirondack campfire in the outdoor firepit, taking a boat trip around the lake or a hike in the woods. One kayak, one canoe and some float tubes are available for guest use as well as space to dock one motor boat. The approach into the water is gradual and there is a sandy area about 6-8 feet wide, There is also a ladder at the end of one of the docks to get in and out of the water. The waterfront includes a small cove for swimming which is really ideal for kids.Camp Arrowhead offers all the comforts of home with wireless internet, plasma television, a fully equipped custom kitchen, stone fireplace and 3 season enclosed porch. Camp Arrowhead is fully winterized and available for rent during all four seasons. A gorgeous location for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing during the winter months!
Note: The hearthstone stove in the seasonal porch is not available for guest use. Firewood is not provided for the fireplace but bundles can be purchased at various convenience stores in town.
This property will consider allowing ONE trained and well behaved dog with an additional pet fee.
The property was very clean and well-maintained. You can't beat the location if you want lake access and to be close to downtown Saranac. The kitchen was fully equipped and had many of the items you would likely need for a successful stay including plastic storage bags, foil, wrap, spices, etc. We had everything we wanted. The wood stove insert in the fireplace was not intuitive but a quick e-mail to the rental agency clarified things within minutes. (Be sure to bring your own firewood!) The only real negative was the limited viewing options on the TV. There is only basic cable service so you'll only find a handful of channels unlocked. However, free access to Netflix is provided and there is a DVD player. I suggest bringing your own Fire or Chromecast device and/or some of your favorite DVDs. If you want a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay I recommend Camp Arrowhead.
We loved staying on our own “camp”. It had everything we needed to relax after a day of hiking. We enjoyed the kayak and the fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked and the bedrooms were comfortable.
The place is very well stocked . Very clean and charming inside (and out). Even a Dunkin' and McDonalds and Aldi right at the end of the street. Plenty to do in the area. Good canoe for fishing, which was also pretty good (more in terms of the size of the fish than the quantity)- caught 5 pike up to 32 inches and one large bass (but surprisingly caught very few bass when we were there in second half of June). Plenty of golf in the area. Went to the top of White Face Mt., which I highly recommend and saw the summer ski jumping at the Ski Jumping center (didn't even know that was a thing) and got an hour long tour explaining it all. They train/jump all year round. Good trip.
