Schroon Lake, New York
The Maples is a charming, historic lakeside home on the west shore of Schroon Lake, in the stunning Adirondack Mountains, with over six million acres of lakes, streams and forested wilderness.
The house features wide lawns with exquisite lake and mountain views, Adirondack chairs, and perennial gardens. A large dine-in porch, overlooking the lake, furnished in white wicker, is everyone’s favorite. A spacious contemporary kitchen, comfortable living room with piano and fireplace adjoins the beautiful dining room.
The house sleeps seven, in four bedrooms, with two and a half baths, and laundry.
Across the lawn are stairs down to the dock, with a small boat for renter use, and room for water craft, your own or rented from the marina.
A fire pit with Adirondack chairs, and grill, provide gathering fun.
The village of Schroon Lake is a convenient short walk away, with grocery, shops, restaurants, picturesque town golf course, excellently maintained tennis tennis courts, a new town library with children's programs, the Town Hall, and Hudson Headwaters Health Network Health Center. Nearby are the town golf course, famed Seagle Festival music program, hiking trails, nearby mountains to climb, waterways, and access to many attractions, from Lake George to Lake Placid, the High Peaks, historic Ticonderoga, the Adirondack Experience at the Adirondack Museum, the Wild Center, the Natural Stone Bridge and Caves, and far more.
Phyllis and Marty were excellent to work with, they shared a wealth of knowledge of the area and activities for us to do. Excellent location and the house is fully stocked with anything you might need!
That says it all. Phyllis and Marty are excellent hosts and the Maples is perfect. We could not have asked more a more pleasant week to relax.
Spacious well-appointed house with broad lawns and westerly views of lake and distant hills from a fully furnished screened-in porch. The house is well-stocked with everything a traveler might need. Hosts welcomed us with fresh flower arrangements and breakfast of fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls and local coffee! The little aluminium boat even got us out on the lake! Minor drawbacks: Rte. 9 noise and poor swimming off the dock. But a 5 minute walk to the town beach (perfect for young kids!) made up for that. Thoroughly enjoyed our week.
