My experience and small family getaway went down the toilet when the heater breakers kept tripping off through the night, when it was 27 F degrees outside. My husband had to constantly go outside to reset the breakers. The office gave us wood to burn(downstairs) but the bedrooms were upstairs. Worst experience of my life.
Power outage on second floor at 11 pm, considering there us just an electric heater in each room you can imagine our nightmare last night. I send messages and no answer until this morning. Heater on the first floor not working properly and of course it stopped working at 11 pm. No hot water in the shower, we checked before leaving and it was working right. Absolutely you have to update at least power lines and heater
I would've liked it to have better lighting throughout the house, though. That would've been a much better experience.
The place has a big potential! The neighborhood is beautiful and quite. The cabin is cute. The village is about 10 minutes drive and you can find anything you need very close BUT the place is falling apart: Missing blinds in the windows, the fireplace grill is broken which makes a bit difficult to light the fire and to make it worst, there is no heater upstairs and the nights in Big Bear at this time are freezing!! The master bedroom's bed has a plastic foil underneath the blankets (guessing to protect the mattress) but the sound at night can easily disturb your sleeping. I could make a bigger list of things falling apart in the cabin, but I am pretty sure the owner knows about them. It is about time to make some repairs!
