We had a great time visiting the area and seeing family. Staying at this house was relaxing and comfortable for all.
This home is super spacious, clean & welcoming. The bed, sheets, towels were great. Loved all the comfy couches and oversized dining table. Tons of space for our group of 10. Many extra items were provided in the kitchen, way more kitchen tools than I see in the typical rental. Loved the large TVs. All the kids enjoyed the private beach just off the back yard. Our pup enjoyed nearby public beach which we walked. Looking forward to staying here again!
The kids loved the house and.we did too.
Misleading pictures on website, dangerous shower, dirty carpets, poor outdoor lighting, mouse in the house, rooms too small for 2 people, linens didn’t stay on pillows, mattress cover didn’t stay on bed, musty smell in old section, only 1 TV worked,
Property was just as described. Spacious and accommodated my family perfectly. It was also very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Communication between me and the owner was great. Would definitely visit this property again in the future.
Love the house. Very spacious with a great layout. Scored an extra beach day as the host let us to check in 2 hours before expected.
Thoroughly enjoyed having the water right outside. Nice house and great communicator. The loft bedroom did create a small problem for us.
The house was very cozy and quiet. The little beach area and water from the harbor was really great. The kids loved the kayaks and it was nice to just sit on the deck and watch them play
We were a family with young children and enjoyed the beach that was attached to the property. The outdoor deck was also nice. The upstairs room has no door therefore lacked privacy. We had a nice vacation.
We enjoyed staying at Lisa’s house very much. She was easy to communicate with and the house was perfect for me and my family. We loved the little beach and really didn’t even want to go to the other one, which was very nice too. It was just so easy to stay and have everything right there. The privacy was wonderful too ;) Would highly recommend to anyone.
The house was a nice, clean house. We where some what disappointed in the 4th bed room it was a loft open to the rest of the house not an actual bedroom. The house did look bigger in the pictures. The deck did have a lg amount ants. I contacted the owner to let her know there was a rusty chair on the deck that had a sharp edge which my husband cut his leg on. It took her 2 days to get back to me. Which was ok because it wasn’t an emergency. I just wanted her to know we moved the chair off the deck so none of the kids got hurt. The best part of the house was the view and the kayaks. Oh and the beds where pretty comfortable too. The walk to the beach was about 5 min But the beach had a lot of sea weed , jellyfish and broken shells. So we drove the 25-30 minutes to Virginia Beach which was beautiful and very clean. The board walk was ok towards 30th street end the rides near 14th street not so good.
My family enjoyed our stay and felt at home, and the beach community was super friendly. This home offers a unique water in the front yard and boat watching experience. We also took advantage of its close prominently to visit Busch Gardens and eat great local seafood. We'd love to visit again!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The home is lovely and very well equipped. Everything you could need in the kitchen (they even had fresh spices!) and recommendations for local restaurants when you didn’t feel like cooking. Lots of room and the layout worked beautifully for our 2 families. The private beach was small but having it all to ourselves was amazing, and the public beach was easy walking distance. The location was perfect - right off the highway, so easy to get to any of the surrounding cities or up to Busch Gardens, but felt tucked away with zero freeway noise. A truly beautiful property with an attentive host. We had some really magical moments in the kayaks - watching the sunset and following a pod of dolphins as they played in the bay. A truly unforgettable trip!
We stayed over Christmas during winter storm Elliott and we were so cozy and enjoyed the lovely views. Beds were comfy, kitchen was so well equipped, and Lisa was great to communicate with. I cannot recommend this location and host enough. Thank you for the great experience!
Lisa was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The house was the perfect size for 6 adults, 1 teen, a 2 toddlers. The private beach on the bay in the backyard was perfect for our little ones. Restaurants were within close proximity. The traffic in the area can be overwhelming during rush hour times but overall we had an excellent week!
After an exhausting year at work, it was time to get away from everything, with the extended family. This home has everything you could need. Yes, a little outdated on a few items, but nothing in life is perfect. I had a few questions the day of arrival, but the host answered them quickly and graciously. Will definately stay next time we are in town!
The location is close to Williamsburg, downtown Norfolk and Virginia Beach. The private beach at the house is nice and we enjoyed watching the planes and helicopters from the naval base across the bay. The house needs a little touch up of paint in places but anything and everything you could think of is there, especially in the kitchen. Air conditioning works great and the deck and view are beautiful.
The things that we appreciated: There was enough room for our group of 6 and the layout was fine. The small private beach on the bay just out the back deck door was a big hit for our grandchild. The view is lovely from the back deck. The kitchen has a large assortment of cooking and serving pieces and tableware. A lovely more extensive beach is very nearby. The large grill was a big asset. Things that disappointed us: A real problem is the extremely loud air conditioner. You can not have a conversation when it is running unless you are standing close to one another. An exterminator is needed. The linens and rugs are tired. The furniture is worn and damaged. A lot is expected of the guests to prepare for the housekeeper before their 9:30 am checkout. That includes emptying the dishwasher and refrigerator, washing sheets and towels, throwing out the trash. The spirit of the preparation for us was not equal. For example most of the beds were unmade and towels were not set out in the bathrooms when we arrived. The paper goods, shampoo, and soap were in short supply. This was surprising considering the good communication I had with the host before we arrived.
