Beach Front with Panoramic Views

Arrived at contracted time of 6 p.m. on Friday Property not cleaned Owner suggests we clean the used linens ourselves Fuse blown. Refrigerator leaked. Kitchen light out. Dishwasher had to be repaired to work Outdoor shower deplorable. Advertised Pool far from house No walkway to beach – walk over dunes Pool table takes up ½ of livingroom Lower level no a.c. sand covered floor Bad lighting. Hole in door where lock should be. Window frame broken – hazardous Deck slats missing – dangerous for little ones Beach chairs broken (4) Should not be rented 'til of these issues are addressed.

Best ocean views in OBX. Property was clean and well maintained.

Great beach house, we loved it

great location. house is outdated and repairs are poorly done.

We were informed upon arrival on 7/2/22 that the ac on lower level (where 4 of the 5 bedrooms and 3 of the 4 full bathrooms are located) was being fixed Monday, 7/4/22. We spent countless hours meassagimg the host and calling VRBO for help. Inside temps reached 86 degrees. Screens were missing in most windows and screen door locks did not all function, posing a safety risk. The air conditioning tech didn’t show up Monday (7/4/22) They finally fixed the air conditioning on Thursday, 7/7/22. We had to spend many hours trying to seek information and help from both the host and VRBO. We asked the host for some compensation several times and received no response. We spent a majority of our vacation in undesirable conditions, not to mention with hours spent on the phone on hold, messaging the host, and waiting for technicians on 3 different occasions. VRBO was also of no help. They even told us that they were too busy to help us find alternative lodging, but that we could look ourselves and pay for it, then submit receipts later for reimbursement. Beware of this host and the VRBO promise of traveler satisfaction. It is ineffective at best. We will never book with this host again.k and hope to warn others.

The view is the best part of this property. The houses to the right of the property sit further back from the beach so there is a wide sweeping view of the beach to the right. The house, however, is definitely showing its age. While the kitchen had recently been remodeled, the bathrooms have not and they are in need of it. The kitchen could also be better stocked (i.e. no Keurig machine, pots without matching lids, few baking dishes/bowls, etc. ). Also, prospective renters should be aware that the pool is not beachside - it is at the front of the property by the road.

House was clean, bedrooms could use updating. Closets were jammed without hangers. And pool is detached which is not clear. We are first time home renters so maybe the lack of clarity is normal.

Property is very old, however it is obvious that the owner is taking an incremental approach to upgrading. The third floor kitchen and living room area is absolutely gorgeous! Bathrooms were very dated.
