Bay Views, 4th house from the Beach and Wonderful Sea Breezes!

The host is attentive and communicative.! We have two dogs and this place, just steps from the beach worked out well for us. We walked the beach everyday and it’s beautiful. Iggy’s the famous RI restaurant is very close by for takeout or dine in !

Anne was a great and responsive host during the time at her lovely beach house.The house is very large with plenty of room to eat, relax, sleep and enjoy the patios right near the beach.We didn’t have a car for the month, but the bus got us everywhere with close grocery, restaurants, pharmacy and downtown Providence.The one critique is the house is a little run down. While most everything works, several repairs were needed and the furniture (besides a new couch) is quite old. However, we would still recommend this house to any guests looking to enjoy Warwick, Providence and even Newport.

Location location location!! I throughly enjoyed my month on the beach. This house was perfect for me and my dogs. The fenced in yard was such a great perk! The house was clean, bright and airy. Ann was helpful and responsive and all of the neighbors are friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to return!!

The location is great—quiet and close to the beach—and the home had plenty of space for us to unpack and settle in for the month. Ann was very kind and responsive throughout our stay.Unfortunately, the previous tenants had clearly left the home in poor condition. While Ann made an effort to clean before our arrival, we ended up spending half a day deep cleaning—dirty pots/pans, unclean toilets, and grimy surfaces. We ultimately left it in better condition than we found it.Several items were broken on arrival: the grill, sofa, master bed frame, and bathroom sink handle. Ann said she was ordering replacements and a plumber was coming, but nothing happened until the 4th and last week of our stay and then only somethings were fixed. The new sofa (which we assembled and moved out the broken one) came 3 days before we left; the plumber came 5 days before checkout. The TV died and a replacement arrived a few days after, which was nice.The lawn is mowed by a nice gentleman, but weed-whacking trimmings with thorns were left behind. I raked the yard so we could safely walk barefoot. The patio table was buried in overgrowth and too dirty to use. This house has great potential, but it needs more consistent upkeep, furniture updates (of the four sofas, only one was truly comfortable), and better turnover cleaning. A partial refund would be fair given the effort we put into making it livable.

Good value

Was there from August 1st to August 31st, 2022. Pluses are close proximity to the beach, owner, though long distance was readily available by phone, & house was comfortable and spacious. The minuses, however, are: the lawn was sorely neglected. Grass & weeds were tall & gangly upon arrival. Grass was mowed 2 days before my departure. The owner said “she had not been pleased with the lawn man lately”. Not a good first impression. In the kitchen, the freezer door did not shut properly, causing constant ice buildup, which made it even more difficult to close. There was an obvious electrical problem in the kitchen. Several outlets were not working and the garbage disposal didn’t work for the entire month. The circuit breaker panel indicated that attention was needed. When this was discussed with the owner, her reply was: “oh,yes! That has been a problem in the past”. Several of the vent outlets were black with dirt & grease. The worst was on the wall behind the dining room table. In the bathroom the shower stall had a considerable amount of black mold on the floor & up the walls about 3 feet. I scrubbed it as best I could with dish soap & Clorox but several black areas remained in the grout. There was no working wall switch to turn off the ceiling fans in the family room area. They had to remain on all month because I am too short to reach them. The smoke detectors had no covers or batteries. There was no carbon monoxide detector. I was pleased to find a quilted coverlet on the sofa because I had my dog with me. When I removed it to wash it before leaving, I was surprised that the sofa itself was soiled & stained, & hoped the owner realized I wasn’t responsible. The pillows in the house were very old, stained, & had a stale odor. The wooden frame on the lower right side of the door leading from the back deck into the house was badly damaged. It looked like someone smashed it with a hammer up about 7 inches. All above issues aside, I enjoyed my month at the house. I feel, however, that it needs some TLC that an absentee owner cannot provide. I believe a reliable local caregiver or handyman available by phone to help where & when needed as well as a cleaning woman who does more than a general cleanup after renters leave would be all the house needs to keep the guests and therefore, the owner happy. This is a great location for quiet easy access beach time and the home had an awesome kitchen and grill to prepare meals. Nearby restaurant and grocery stores were very good also.

We (2 adults 4 teenagers) spent a week here. Loved the layout of the house. The boys took out the kayaks every day and disappeared for hours. The beaches were very peaceful, not crowded, and the water calm enough for kayaking. We did many of the activities away from the house (boat ride from Newport, bicycle path from Bristol, Rail Explorers...), but even on the days we didn't have any plans, there was plenty to do here. We also loved the two restaurants nearby and ate there almost every day. Lots of freedom for the always hungry teenagers to get some food or ice cream when they get hungry, I never had to worry about what to feed them next. People in the neighborhood are very friendly and dogs are welcome here! Our 11 years old senior Vizsla dog had a great time going to the beach every day or watching the many bunnies hopping around the yard. Hope to return someday! Thank you, Annie!

This is an unassuming cottage that has a beautiful kitchen renovation. It is located walking distance from a beautiful private type beach with few people. Which makes it an amazing getaway if you have a book writing project. Anne was very communicative and honest . I will be back again soon. :)
