What a great week! Beautiful weather, bright skies and the pool was spectacular. This is our 3rd visit to Barefoot at the Banks. It's one of our favorite places. The location and privacy, pool and garage access (since my kiddos love to rent a beach buggy golf cart). They especially love to see the frogs and get them from the pool! Climbed Bodie island lighthouse this year. it's usually closed by the time we get down here. It's beautiful, give it a climb. Was truly a well deserved break from the hustle and bustle of our everyday life. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Very nice house, rooms were a nice size and very nice kitchen and family room but there were some issues. Too many spiders esp in the master bedroom. It would have been nice to have the grill upstairs. Lots of steps. Table umbrella was broken and we never heard back about getting it fixed. House was too cold and the temp didn’t adjust. Master shower was dirty when we arrived and we found potato chips in the bed when we arrived. The pictures on the website are misleading because we were looking forward to the hammock and bikes. Bikes were broken and there was no hammock.
The house was nice, had a great pool. The exception were the following- advertised 2 Weber grills for cooking, what we found were 2 Weber grill covers. Underneath were 2 rusted out grills that barely cooked food. The table umbrella was broken, the maintenance company picked it up but never brought a replacement. Not ideal when it’s in the 90’s. I went to read a nice book on the hammock, however, there was no hammock to be found. Finally, the microwave had peeling paint inside and was unusable. With 4 kids this was less than ideal as well. I did speak to village realty and their response was that they must have not updated the description and offered a $25 credit off the next booking. That seemed a little out of line when we paid over 5k for the rental.
Nice house, LOVED the pool. Comfortable space for our family of 4 adults. Only downside for me was the bedding and pillows. But then again, there’s no place like home.
We found dead spider and sand in second floor master bathroom. Towels were worn and had holes in them. The same bathroom had a dirty toilet seat. No dish towels were provided. Bicycles had flat tires and no air pump was found. Village Realty did not answer this concern on Monday. Currituck Club is a nice area for walking and we have stayed in two other houses that were very nice and clean.
This house is perfect for our family of four. My 8 and 5 year old burn off energy climbing the steps! Plus we live in the pool!!!!! Best pool hands down. (We've stayed in 12 other homes over the years) the heated water makes it perfect in early spring and fall. The use of the bikes and access to the garage (my boys love to rent a golf cart from OBX beach buggies. Are a huge plus. The location is nice too private but very accessible. A plus on all counts.
