First time renting in OBX and the first time renting over the Christmas / New Years holidays. This property is nice. It is a very short walk to a wonderful beach. Sunrises over the water and the occasional pod of dolphins swimming by is really wonderful. The house is very nice...all bedrooms have baths, there are some nice decks to hang out on and a hot tub or a pool (on season) to jump into. Our visit was not completely smooth......but I feel generally our issues were a one-off and are likely not representative of the usual experience one would expect at this home. The issues were also occurring on a holiday and I completely understand and sympathize with the difficulty in managing at that time. The check in process was generally good but it appears the code provided for the door activated an hour late due perhaps due to the daylight savings time change. Fortunately (and to some degree unfortunately) we found the door open.....so we were able to get in on time. The larger issue 45 minutes after we arrived was the smoke alarms all went off...for no apparent reason. Calls to the management company (on Christmas day) did not provide any substantive help....but rather a referral to the Nags Head Fire Department. I chatted fire guy to fire guy and they sent out a truck in a non-emergency way. The guys were great and we all had fun solving the puzzle. After 90 minutes or so, and the deinstallation of 50% of the smoke detectors we reset it.......until.......4am the next morning.....when it went off again. That prompted me to deinstall all remaining smoke alarms to avoid a repeat performance. All of this was reported to the management company and they remained deinstalled until after we checked out. Arriving by plane on Christmas day also created some unique situations.....as there was virtually no where to buy anything that you might need that day. The management company did provide a roll of paper towels, some toilet paper, sheets, towels and some bath soap.....all of which was helpful and needed. The kitchen has all the dishware, silverware and pots and pans you will need. It does not have anything else.....no condiments (salt, pepper, oil, etc)....so do come prepared for anything needed for food preparation. The WiFi is good but the security protocol is weak and should be upgraded (an easy process). Again, issues existed but they were temporary inconveniences and nothing that ruined our week. I would gladly stay there again.
This properly was beyond our expectations! Beautifully maintained, plenty of space for everyone. Great room on the top floor for everyone to gather. Wonderful outdoor spaces on every floor along with a hot tub. Just a short walk to the beach, restaurants and store. Can’t recommend this property enough!
We had WONDERFUL stay for our Christmas. It was mine and my sister’s family with three under three and the house was absolutely perfect. The location of the house is less than a mile than just about anything you can think of and less a five minute walk to the beach! It became a running joke that we were searching for flaws to find in the house but none were to be found! We really appreciated a nicely stocked kitchen for our holiday meal. The proximity to the park and the beach were perfect for our little ones and it was easily one of the cleanest houses we’ve had the pleasure of staying in! We hope to stay again!
My husband, two kids, and I stayed at this property last week. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, size and location! We were able to arrange to have the pool heated and the kids swam in it for hours every day, it was well worth it. We were close enough to bike to a park and an ice cream shop and the grocery store was near as well. We had a couple of small problems that were resolved very quickly, Outer Banks Blue assistants were easy to reach and very helpful. We would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!
This property is in the perfect location to everything in the Outer Banks. The house is laid out amazingly well and was the ideal size for our family of 4! We all like our privacy and were able to have our own bedrooms and bathrooms! The great room on the top floor is gorgeous and again, the perfect set up. The kitchen had anything you could possibly need or want! The pool and hot tub area was so comfortable and we enjoyed it every afternoon and evening. The only thing I would probably change is putting up a gate so you cannot enter the pool area from the side yard without a code or key. Our stay was perfect in every way. We enjoyed ourselves so much and are looking forward to coming back in the fall!
