The bungalow has been restored with the finest details, including arches, columns, original pendant waterfall lights, and lath and plaster walls.

Even with all the nostalgic decorations and features, you’ll still get modern conveniences such as UV Smart Phone and Keys UV lite box, multi-device charging station, Free Wi-Fi (Zoom Capable), Smart TV and Streaming, DVD collection, washer, dryer, dishwasher, and off-street parking for one car, to make your stay as pain-free as possible like you are right at home.

► Bedroom 2 - 1 queen bed for 2 adults
► Bedroom 3 - 1 queen bed for 2 adults
Choose from 2 queen bedrooms in the bungalow. Consistent with the theme and era, the rooms are decorated in simple elegance, with bedside lamps and a chair. We call one of the bedrooms the “Plate Room” for its collection of women’s fashion throughout the past three centuries. Get a good night’s sleep on plush hotel-grade mattresses and luxurious cotton sheets. There’s also one sofa bed in the den that will come in handy for your for children. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The plate room has the master bath just steps away.

★★ ★★
The two bathrooms are pristine. The master bathroom is a traditional arts and craft bathroom with bead-board, hex tile floor and an original square tub with shower along with sink and toilet. It also includes a towel warmer to keep you toasty on cooler January mornings. The en-suite bathroom also has a sink tub/shower and toilet (please note that it is very small as is common in older homes). We provide luxurious custom-made Erewhon Retreat tea olive soap, made from the plants found around the home. The soap is soothing on the skin and simply delightful.

★★ & ★★
The kitchen has a large refrigerator, four-burner gas stove, a large oven, and dishwasher in addition to numerous small appliances (e.g., coffeemaker, blender, toaster) for your convenience. The gorgeous, open-plan kitchen has all the basics for a quick snack or gourmet meal. Pots, pans, and necessary utensils are stored in the drawers.

All appliances are easy to use, and you can whip up your meal in no time. And once you’re done cooking, you may sit at the breakfast table or proceed to the dining room to a dining table capable of seating six. The great bay window opposite the table lets in the light to greet your morning. In early spring, you’ll be treated to the beautiful colors of the garden and guests love all the birds in fall and spring migration season.

★★ ★★
The dining area leads to the airy, well-lit and beautifully-designed living room. Adorned with high-backed chairs and a comfortable sofa, the living room is warm and inviting. If you enjoy reading, you are in for a treat. The built-in bookshelves beside the massive fireplace hold all the Harvard Classics and the complete works of Shakespeare for your pleasure, there’s even an Agatha Christie mystery written in 1923. Curl up with your chosen book and be reminded you that you’re on vacation.

A second living area in the form of a cozy den awaits you with a welcoming sofa, a table and its warm light and neutral tones perfect to watch TV or choose from our 70 DVD's. You can really shut out the world while in this room to clear your head or get some work done.

★★ ★★
A favorite of our guests is the large wrap-around porch, complete with porch swing and cushioned wicker chair. Take deep breaths with coffee in hand and listen to the native birds who make their home around the property.

A sun deck overlooks the backyard, which also invokes feelings of another era, when gardens were a sense of pride for homeowners. Meander through the well-kept yard, enjoying the vibrant colors of the native Florida plants. Grab a book and find a spot of shade under the 90-year-old camphor trees and laurel oaks. In the early evening hours, guests of both the cottage and the bungalow often gather on the deck, swapping stories of the day.

There are many trendy places to eat within walking distance, and the Hillsborough River is only a four blocks away.

★★ ★★
► You’ll have access to the entire bungalow and property.
► Guests are able to access all rooms of the bungalow as well as the backyard.
► Guests do n̲o̲t̲ ̲h̲a̲v̲e̲ ̲a̲c̲c̲e̲s̲s̲ to:
 → attic
 → cabinet in utility/laundry room

★★ ★★
► The entire property is surrounded by our National and Florida Wildlife Federation “Wildlife Habitat” landscaped garden.
► To keep the property in its pristine condition, r̲e̲g̲u̲l̲a̲r̲ ̲y̲a̲r̲d̲ ̲m̲a̲i̲n̲t̲e̲n̲a̲n̲c̲e̲ will be performed on the property during the day, including but not limited to: blowing, edging, weeding, trimming watering the plants.
► F̲r̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲y̲ will depend on the season, weather and/or time of day, and typically occur between 8:00am and 8:00pm and may last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.

★★ ★★
► B̲u̲g̲s̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲i̲n̲s̲e̲c̲t̲s̲ (in particular palmetto bugs, cockroaches) are a fact of life in Florida, and we have no control over them above and beyond standard preventative measures and using an Ozone machine after every guest. By reserving this property, guests acknowledge the occasional presence of bugs in the home.
► This is an historic, well-loved and well-cared-for home that comes with its c̲h̲a̲r̲m̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲s̲e̲t̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲i̲d̲i̲o̲s̲y̲n̲c̲r̲a̲s̲i̲e̲s̲ a̲n̲d̲ ̲i̲m̲p̲e̲r̲f̲e̲c̲t̲i̲o̲n̲s̲. For instance, the air conditioner, furnace, and water boiler will occasionally make some noise, the doors and walls have been painted a few times, and there may some gaps under the indoor doors. Thus, this may not be the best accommodation for folks looking for a 5* luxury-type of experience.
► There are several cameras on the property: 1 video doorbell each the bungalow's front & backdoor (to laundry room). Cottage & manager's office front doors each have a video doorbell. 2 cameras on home's side overlooking pathway by fence, & pine pathway on the other side. All cameras record sound & audio upon motion activation for 30 seconds.

Judy was very communicative and friendly. The house has beautiful hardwood floors and many decorations of the 1920s. It is well maintained, comfortable, and in a safe area. It is walking distance to a number of restaurants and breweries. We will definitely consider this house for future visits. Some details about the home: One bathroom is exceptionally small but its still great to have two full bathrooms. The TV is very small for the size of the living room but is fully functional for streaming. The kitchen is fully equipped with many appliances and the ice maker in the freezer works well. Light sleeper should sleep in the bedroom in the back of the house due to cobblestone road noise. HVAC worked very well and kept the home comfortable. Check in/out was very simple and uses an electronic keypad for ease. Many thanks to our host!!!

This arts and crafts home is located in the historic Seminole Heights neighborhood. Our property was fully appointed with all our needs, and even bonus kitchen/pantry items. We enjoyed a great brunch at the local C House restaurant, a walkable 2 block jaunt, and our access to downtown Tampa and our venue' Amalie Arena could not have been easier. Very enjoyable experience for our entire party!

All the charm of a historically representative early 20th century Florida residence with the comforts of modern living. Why would anyone stay at a personality-free hotel when an option like this -- with a lovely host -- is available at roughly the same cost? Thanks Judy for a great stay.

Everything was pleasant and immaculate. My friend and I have only one minor recommendation. We need some better lighting. It was hard to work at the desk for lack of light. Best part was reading on the swing on the front porch on the swing. Lots of wonderful house to see in the neighborhood.

Everything was great. Host left us eggs, English muffins, cereal pouches, milk, orange juice, butter…Just be aware that second bathroom is more of a bath closet. It has a small tub, toilet, and tiny sink. Standing room in that bath is only about 18 x 20 inches.

We booked a concert in Clearwater and discovered this lovely cottage. Built in 1923 and has retained the charm of a time gone by. A comfortable and relaxing week. Hoping we have the opportunity to return in the future.

This was a very nice stay. First a few words about the host; Judy is the new owner and not the person mentioned in one of the negative reviews below. If I could give her a thousand star-rating, I would. She responded to all my messages almost immediately, and any issue was taken care of right away. I would absolutely recommend her. The property was just as described, a very pleasant older home, very well kept. When we arrived the fridge was fully stocked. Naturally, being that the home is 100 years old, there are some quirks but that is exactly what makes up the charm. Some rooms get better A/C than others; I used one of the provided fans to redistribute the air a bit, and that worked very well. The home was very tastefully decorated, and all the furniture, while modern, was reminiscent of the time period of the home(1920s). The immediate neighborhood is nice with many older 1920s homes. I felt very safe going jogging there, as long as you stay in between Florida and Nebraska Ave. Those two are busy through-streets and still have a grungy feel to them, albeit on Florida Ave there are a few nice bars and eateries within walking distance. I-275 as well as Hillsborough Ave are right around the corner, so you have easy access to the rest of Tampa
