This home is a perfect location, 2 blocks from beautiful Kailua beach (which is the best kept secret in Hawaii, great beach with no crowds!) and just a short drive to restaurants and amenities in Kailua. It is clean, comfortable and the hosts, Paul and Rachel are friendly and very helpful ! We will plan to stay here again !

An incredibly cozy nook right nect to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island

The hosts were great, the house was so nice, private, and clean. All the little treats/ snacks provided by the the host were tasty. All around, couldn't of asked for a better place to stay!!

Amazing stay at the Sheffield garden suite! Was everything we anticipated plus more! Very friendly owners, comfortable bed, great shower, and everything you could ask for from beach chairs and an umbrella to coffee filters and cream and sugar for your morning coffee. We are already anticipating staying again with the Sheffields in the future.

Incredible location, with an easy walk to the beach or to town, attentive and warm hosts, perfect place to visit and really be a part of the neighborhood with a beautiful breeze by day and a good AC at night just in case. Strong recommend.

Loved it! Great location, close to the beach, town, food & easy to find. It’s a cute place & has a lovely garden. Made some gecko friends & enjoyed our morning sunrises. The Sheffield’s are very nice & checked in with us to see if we needed anything. My sister & I would love to come back.

I love, loved the private garden courtyard and the tropical cottage ambience of the apartment. It was comfortable size for my mom and I. The location was beyond perfect with a short walk to Kailua Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and so close to the all the great conveniences of Kailua Town. It was a wonderful treat to spend time in the heart of my childhood home town so close to my favorite beach! The host are so very kind and very attentive taking care of everything we needed right away. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Great location, five minute walk to Kailua beach and 10 minute walk to town. Quiet and comfortable. Paul and Rachel were very responsive hosts.

Such a lovely stay. We were welcomed with baked cookies! Owners were attentive, quick to answer any questions, and very nice. Property is beautiful, cozy, and we're hoping to come back again next year. Some had issues with the, busy road this property is next to but we didn't even notice. Consider bringing your own Fire stick if you'd like any streaming service. I recommend!

Excellent, peaceful

My husband, I absolutely enjoyed our time at Sheffield house! The privacy, the garden area, the outdoor shower, the room, the space, the whole atmosphere were all perfect for our anniversary get away!Paul and Rachel are kind and thoughtful hosts!We arrived after dark to have Paul welcome us . The house was beautiful and more than we anticipated! Paul and Rachel provided us with treats and juice for the first morning as we woke up to the sound of birds chirping in the garden. The beach was close enough to walk to within a couple minutes. Taking the provided boogie boards, beach chairs and sun umbrella to enjoy the day in the sun! The house is stocked with everything you need to make your own food or to enjoy takeout. The town is close the restaurant options plentiful! We will definitely be back to enjoy again!!

Review 3 of us stayed at the this rental in Kailua, last week of May 2025. The weather was great at this time of the year, very warm but breezy, the water was also warm. There’s a 5 min walk to the beach from the house. This is the nicest beach on the island. Long, sandy and clean, no surprises. You can take nice long walks in the morning when it’s not so hot yet. Our host, is a welcoming, kind gentleman. This rental is well equipped and has lots of charm to it. My favourite part is the spacious shower. There are all sorts of beach gear provided (the beach umbrella especially comes in handy because there are no trees on this particular beach for shade).There are lots of windows in the house, all has bug nets, that is very important since the air is so wonderful, you don’t want to close those windows. There are fans and also AC if it gets too hot.Birds rise here early and make such a big racket it’s almost comical. If you want to sleep longer than 5 am, bring some earplugs LOL. If you don’t want to sleep then walk 5 min and watch the sunrise. Overall we were very comfortable inside the house, nice bed, big TV, lots of drawers to put your things away, lots of towels etc. We recommend this place warmly. The Mecls

First off, apologies to our wonderful hosts Paul and Rachel for posting this review a little late. Our week spent in the Garden Suite at Sheffield House was ideal! From the short (5-ish min.) walk tot the beach, to the calm and private patio outside our front door, everything was just as advertised and just what the doctor ordered! We didn’t experience the traffic noise mentioned on other reviews, either. It was a wonderful, tranquil space to spend down time hosted by folks who truly understand how to treat their guest.

We love Kailua and this little place was perfect for me and my husband. It’s close to the beach and the town.

Love love love this location.

Everything we needed was already available. Coffee grounds, scones, towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Plenty of ventilation and easy to understand instructions for checkout. Will book again; the respite that Kailua provides from the touristy hustle of Honolulu can’t be quantified.

Everything was just as pictured, close to stores, restaurants and short walk to the beach! Host was very kind and gave us tips about places to visit.

We really enjoyed our stay in the garden suite. The bed was comfy and we could hear the birds outside in the garden in the mornings. Close to shopping and the beach.

My husband and I stayed here for a birthday trip and it was just what we needed. Close proximity to both the beach and lots of shopping and restaurants in Kailua Town. The property owners are also incredibly kind and welcoming. Thank you so much!

We enjoyed staying in the Garden Suite. It was our 3rd time visiting Oahu, but first time staying on the East Side. I loved being walking distance to Kailua and Lanikai beaches and being able to walk each morning at sunrise (however, when bringing kids/ beach supplies, it is still a drive - parking was not an issue, as there is frequent turnover of people at the beaches). We felt that the unit is very well designed in terms of windows/ ventilation/ access to outdoors spaces. Rachel was also very thoughtful to have a variety of breakfast foods/ drinks available in the unit. The only downside to staying at this rental was the noise from the road, if one is spending time during the day there, especially outdoors. Overnight traffic was not an issue.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location in Kailua. We could easily walk to Kailua Beach and Kailua Town in under 10 minutes. The space was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the secluded courtyard for privacy. We would definitely stay here again.

Very cool and elegant property. Cleverly developed space with private outside areas for each rental. Everything you could need in rental unit. Everything well maintained. An easy walk to a fabulous beach with some of the best swimming water I have experienced. Thanks so much. I hope I can come back again .

We loved the charming cottage and garden, the breezes flowing through the shutter style windows, the great location close to the beach as well as town and the little touches offered by our hosts.

Home and neighborhood is lovely. Host-Paul/Rachel is friendly. Check in and is a breeze. All amenities are provided. 5 minutes walk to Kailua beach. The most beautiful beach in Oahu. The only draw back is the noise. Traffic all day and night long. Light sleeper will have issues sleeping. Otherwise everything is perfect. Friendly host

Thank goodness we have friends in the area that recommended Kailua. This is a fantastic town which is not too touristy at all :) Walking to the beach is a HUGE bonus!! Would love to stay here again!!
