This Cabin is nestled on the southeast shore of AuTrain Lake with it's own dock and deck overlooking the lake. It is a short drive to the Beach on Lake Superior and the AuTrain River (3 miles). This is a great location for spending time on the lake, or as a home base for all of the local attractions this area has to offer. Within 20 minutes you are in Munising where you can do the Pictured Rocks cruise, Shipwreck Tour or Kayak tour and many more. Munising is the start of the Pictured RocksNational Lakeshore and there's days worth of activities there and the surrounding area. See over a dozen waterfalls all within 30 minutes from the Cabin.

The cabin is exactly what you would expect if you are looking to stay in an original UP cabin on the lake. As you enter, you'll see the original custom woodwork from when it was built in the 50's. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking meals for up to 8 guests. As you walk past, you'll enter the main living area that has seating for 8 and a nice big TV with WiFi and Netflix for streaming. Located along the North wall there are the 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. There is a queen bedroom, a double bedroom and the third bedroom has bunks with 4 twin beds for a total capacity of 8. The East wall opens to the deck that overlooks the lake.
There's seating on the deck to enjoy the amazing sunrises over the lake, or take a chair out to sit on the dock.
Feel free to bring your boat, there's a public boat launch 3 miles down the road and dock it right at the cabin. There's room for your boat trailer on the property.
There is a gas grill big enough to cook meals for everyone and a nice fire pit area right next to the water. It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy the UP next to the lake with a fire, outdoors, each other and the stars.....

Plenty of room inside and out for a large group. All the cooking and dining ware you could possibly need - even a large group. Plenty of space for a family to eat inside or out, popcorn and a movie, play games. Pretty inland lake just minutes from Lake Superior. Earlier review prompted us to leave fishing gear at home. Mistake — stand on the dock and cast out a ways. Didn’t see anything big get reeled in, but saw some kids having a good time fishing from the dock. The bathroom is very small, but toilet/sink/shower all seem fully strong - hot and cold excellent. Bull frog serenades await you.

Haven’t been able to go on vacation with my husband and son because we have three needy dogs. This place was perfect for the whole family!! Although it was too cold to swim, we kayaked and fished quite a bit. The swing in front of the bonfire was my favorite place all weekend. We did make it to see some of the local waterfalls and beaches that were dog friendly but it was hard to venture out with a perfect spot like this. We brought food to make, instead of going out to eat at restaurants because of the dogs. This cabin had all the essential kitchen tools, utensils, plates, cups, pots, pans, coffee maker, toaster, and more, all clean and in good condition!! The host was awesome, very responsive!! Clear directions on what to do, a thorough guide of things to do nearby, and had a lot of what I would consider “extras” for guest use. We hope to make this an annual trip, hopefully with a fishing boat next year!!

Wonderful property, with an adorable quaint little cabin kept in very good condition! Served all our needs, a dock to fish from, sandy beach for the kids to swim a nice deck to watch the sunrise and have dinner and plenty spacious inside for 8 people. Great location, lots of waterfalls nearby and within a half hour of marquette which offers plenty of activities. 10/10 would reccomed if youre planning a trip to this location.

We had a great time staying at this cabin. It was an easy location with short travel (1hr) to Marquette or Munising. The private firepit and swing added a nice touch for relaxing at night after adventures during the day. Au Train lake provides beautiful views. The Sunrise cabin had all the amenities we needed during our stay. We would come back to stay here again for another trip to the Upper Peninsula

This cabin was perfect for us to stay at for a relaxing vacation in the UP. Half hour drive to pictured rocks for our day hikes and the beautiful Au Train river is right down the road to rent a kayak and enjoy a beautiful paddle down the river. Cabin has a nice beach right out the back door and the view is amazing.

Close to Munising, pictured rocks, so many waterfalls and hiking trails. Well stocked kitchen, nice beds. Only little inconvenience is there is no central air. Had a HUGE AC unit though that kept it cool but bedrooms a little stuffy at night. BUT multiple box fans at cabin for use to help circulate cool air. Perfect spot for adventure during the day and chilling on your own beach in the evenings.

Look I'm not one to write reviews, but I thought I should let the management company know they can do better. We got there and found no key like described. We had no hot water the TV would not show anything and they left us with a half a roll of toilet paper . Plus we had to sweep up someone else's dog hair. Now having said all that when I contacted the manager he got people on it. But we couldn't leave unless we packed all our stuff back up we didn't want to leave the place open and just leave we had rented a pontoon and wanted to use it. So we waited for the maintenance person to bring a key and turn the gas on to light the hot water heater. Wouldn't have been a big deal about the toilet paper but they advertised it as a staple so we didn't bring any, not cool. The dog was not that big of a deal we brought a dog so we know they shed. I say all this could have been avoided if someone did a walk through before we showed up at the very least.
