Stayed Dec 13, 2025We had 6-8 of snow during our stay and this 200 year old structure stayed warm and comfortable. Just remember to duck, people used to be shorter.

Stayed Oct 30, 2025Yes very nice antique saltbox. Jane is a great host. It was within walking distance to the Stony Brook Grist Mill. It was close to Chatham Squire where we enjoyed lunch and dinner two days in a row. The beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

Stayed May 31, 2025Saltbox house is charming and remarkably spacious. Beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. Gardens are gorgeous. Host left good recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. We enjoyed reading about the restoration of the house. We wished we could’ve had a longer stay and would love to return sometime in the future.

Stayed May 20, 2025Everything was as expected. The fireplace was nice to have as the weather was rather cold for late May. The house was very cute and cozy.

Stayed May 31, 2024We so enjoyed our stay in the Elisha Howland saltbox! The inside of the home is so charming and the outdoor gardens are spectacular. We loved sitting in the shade and enjoying the wildlife that occasionally appeared, like a fox and a chipmunk. Jane is a fantastic host who was very communicative and left us a ton of recommendations for our visit. Would definitely return for another stay.

Stayed May 21, 2024We had a wonderful time at the Cape Cod Saltbox. My husband, adult daughter and I stayed for 4 days while vacationing in the area. It was a perfect home base to explore both sides of Cape Cod. The gardens are beautiful and I loved the lilacs surrounding the front door. We had our breakfast in the garden each day. The place was very clean and fully stocked for coffee, making meals, etc. The beds were comfortable as well. The stairs to the 2nd floor are quite steep, but after a day, we didn't really notice. Thoughtful details really made it a great stay. Jane shared a book with the history of the house, and a binder with tons of information about the area - good places for coffee, restaurants, beaches, ice cream, etc. We made good use of the grill, beach chairs and beach towels too. I highly recommend this adorable saltbox, and hope to stay here again in the future.

Stayed May 17, 2024Very clean, cute historic cottage, great grounds. My son and i stayed 2 nights/3 days 5/17-5/19 for fishing trip. Unfortunately the weather was tough and so was fishing. Great location to everything and all you need is within home. Given the age of the home, doors, especially front, and going upstairs can be tough for taller people like my son and i (over 6') and we banged our heads a couple times. Driveway is nice size, but flowering overhanging trees at street side made it tough to see either way and bit dangerous with my sons truck pulling into road. Road noise close to house in AM although not heavy traffic, can be loud when trying to sleep. We enjoyed our stay here, and it is very clean and great area. Working with the owner Jane was great!
