The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions, including the beautiful Lundy Bay, known for being the filming location of the hugely popular Doc Martin series. You may be lucky enough to see the infamous Fisherman's Friends performing on the Platt during the summer months singing traditional shanties. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.

Great location, and cosy cottage with comfy beds. The central heating worked well for chillier nights. There were a couple of niggles however:-1. When we arrived, the fridge had been turned off but not defrosted properly (the door was shut), so when we opened it, it was swimming in water and mould had started to set in. We subsequently had to bleach and clean it out. Note to maintenance staff - either leave a fridge on, or properly defrost it to remove all moisture and leave the door open!!2. The shower was a bit of a menace, with erratic water pressure which sometimes went crazy (i.e. good, but sometimes too good)! Decent enough shower, but recommend only turning the on valve to just over half way.3. The outhouse where rubbish is stored was quite full when we arrived (though it was collected), making access to the washing machine a bit tight.Overall though, a great little property in a fabulous location in the village a few metres from The Platt.

Everything about our stay was really nice. However, I did reach out multiple times with a question before we arrived and unfortunately never received a response. There was barely a half a roll of toilet tissue. We had to walk up the hill to the Co-op and buy some. Thankfully, there were no issues, but I’m not sure what would have happened if there had been. The place itself was lovely and clean.
