“Home is the nicest word there is.” The Cast Away is a beautiful Victorian style home built in the early 1900s with updates to meet the needs of your vacation getaway. It’s the perfect central location being in a quiet neighborhood, yet only moments away from downtown South Haven’s restaurants, shops, taverns, marina, playgrounds and the local movie theatre. Multiple stores including Meijer, Aldi, Walmart, Dollar Tree and Menards are also down the street for anything you need to pick up. Furthermore, the Cast Away is within a mile of the shores of North Beach - a staple point of South Haven. This makes it possible to enjoy the home, town, beach and amazing sunsets all within your stay!

Activity options are endless to make your vacation a memorable one: biking or hiking on the Kal-Haven Trail, gathering for a relaxing beach day, visiting the Maritime Museum, taking boat rides or watching boats at the marina, going between the splashpad and playgrounds while stopping for an ice cream, enjoying local breweries/wineries, and having one-on-one or entire family/friend time while hanging out for a backyard barbeque. This is just the beginning of what this picturesque Lake Michigan town has to offer.

The Cast Away's spacious floor plan has a welcome-home appeal to meet the needs of families and friends looking to create meaningful memories. The interior has a nautical theme with hardwood cherry floors, antique furniture pieces, unique woodwork and built-ins, and central air conditioning/heating. With five large bedrooms, it comfortably sleeps 12 guests. The first-floor bedroom has a queen-sized bed, ample closet space, and an adjacent newly remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower. There are four bedrooms upstairs where three have queen-sized beds and one has a bunk bed and trundle bed. Two of the upstairs queen bedrooms have TVs with Roku devices so guests can sign in to their own streaming apps. The second floor has a very large, updated bathroom featuring a beautiful vaulted ceiling, beadboard walls, attractive tile and a linen alcove. A stackable washer and dryer in the upstairs hallway outside of the bedrooms is a convenient bonus for guests (bring your own detergent). On the main floor, the L-shaped couch in the comfortable living room is a great place to unwind at the end of your day. The 55” smart TV has a Roku Soundbar where you can log in to your own streaming services; an extra USB port is available if you’d like to bring your own streaming device. The dining room with beautiful bay window is perfect for meals and games. The Cast Away has a front and back porch to sit and soak in the surroundings of South Haven’s tree-lined neighborhood while enjoying your morning coffee or evening beverages. You can even see your children play at Tot Lot Park right across the street from the front porch! Located on a corner lot, there is plenty of street parking and two driveway spaces available. The sizeable yard with a secluded back patio is a favorite of our past guests, and a corn hole game is provided!

    This was a great house for our family. The hosts were helpful and have done a nice job outfitting the home. The location was convenient and closer to everything than I had anticipated when looking at a map. Very easy access to downtown and the beaches.

    Overall this location was perfect for the needs of our multi-generational family vacation. The space served us well. The kitchen was well appointed for us to cook in as needed. The living and dining spaces allowed for us to comfortably eat, relax and have family time. We even spent time out on the cute front porch. The bedrooms had ample space for our needs and were decorated well. The bathrooms were also nicely appointed with ample necessities. We did find the house to be a bit cool with the air conditioning and we weren't sure how to adjust it, so just bring along a sweatshirt. The location has plenty of parking and a playground just caddy-corner to it which was nice for the children we had with us. The North and South beaches are both within walking distance, as well as the downtown restaurants and shops. Everyone is so friendly.Anthony is very responsive. I would stay here again.

    Well kept home in great neighborhood with good sidewalks and easy stroll to shopping and dining. Plenty of room for adults and kids to spread out, play games, do puzzles, watch movies, and have a relaxing stay. Nice park and playground across the street. Would definitely stay again!

    We met up as a family after our Grand Daughter's wedding. We loved that the house is not open concept offering smaller places to be for conversation, reading and playing cards or board games. The outdoor patio was a favorite hangout place and great place to eat with adequate table and seating. The yard is large and had space for a corn hole game and another yard game we enjoy. Location is perfect. Short drive to South/North Beach, VanBuren State Park, downtown shopping and a Meijer store less than 5 minutes away. Yet the neighborhood is quiet and lovely to walk in. The KalHaven trailhead is just down the street. The house is equipped with everything we needed. Owner was very prompt in responding when the shower wasn't draining well and it was promptly fixed. We found this property just perfect for the 12 of us. Thank you Anthony for being a perfect host to our family.

    Great stay. Only had slight issues with key lock but property owner called us and sent his uncle to assist. Cute updates throughout and Huge Bathroom in upstairs. Thanks for sharing your house. Kathie
