This beautiful, duplex home is located on one of the only private beaches in the Florida Keys. The home is located on the southern tip of Long Key, and has a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. Each side of the home is a two-bedroom, one bath. Both sides are available for rent. Other side can be found at VRBO #29457. It is ideal for two families, and a paradise for adults and children.

The Long Key State Park is a short walk up the beach, where camping, birdwatching, snorkeling, hiking, canoeing, and many other activities are offered. The water in front of the home is shallow, with a channel which enables a boat up to 30 feet in length to reach the dock. The shallow water is great for snorkeling, lounging, and is a paradise for children. Boat rentals are available nearby.

The waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Bay provide some of the best diving and fishing in the world. World-Class fishing guides and dive boats are also available. Many of the local fishing guides will pick you up right in front of the house. The Long Key Viaduct, just a few hundred feet from the house, has proven to be one of the world's best places to catch a Tarpon.

Both sides of the home are fully-equipped with linens, kitchen supplies, patio and beach furniture, a barbecue grill, and a tiki hut provides an escape from the warm Florida sunshine. Come to enjoy some of the many attractions that the area has to offer, or just lay in a hammock under a palm tree. There is something for everyone at this beachfront paradise!

The home is located on the site of Henry Flagler’s Long Key Fishing Camp and it’s where author, Zane Grey vacationed and wrote some of his works in the early 1900s. Long Key Fishing Camp was established on Long Key in Florida in 1908 by Henry M. Flagler's Florida East Coast Railway Company for the use of tourists to enjoy what was described as 'some of the best fishing in the world.' It initially served a housing for some of the employees who were building the Overseas Railroad to Key West.

Long Key Fishing Camp featured a two-story hotel and a number of cottages. The camp was made famous by author Zane Grey, who was a regular resident, and a pioneer of the sport of sail fishing. Grey became the first president of the Long Key Fishing Club in 1917. The list of other early distinguished guests included Herbert Hoover, Franklin Roosevelt, Andrew Mellon, Charles Kettering, and other notables.

The fishing camp was destroyed by the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935, as was the Overseas Railroad. After the latter was destroyed, the Overseas Highway (U.S. 1), was built across Long Key in replacement

Great set up, amazing view, private, and good amenities. We used the kayaks regularly, caught snapper and a shark from the dock, and had a great time! The rental didn’t come with any hand soap and the dispensers for the shower were also empty. We also only had 1 or 2 rolls of toilet paper for the week so I’d recommend either bringing your own or adding these to your grocery order so you don’t have to go back out to get them. The grill on our side was also very rusty so we used the grill from the other side the night we needed it. Minor inconveniences and would definitely recommend staying here.

Loved this ocean-front stay with our two teens! Paddleboard, kayaks, outdoor deck and tiki hut were all appreciated. They had everything we needed, from kitchen to laundry and even a bait freezer. Would definitely come back!

We wanted to love this place, but our experience was mixed. The location right on the beach was not disappointing. It's a beautiful setting and the ability to walk out the door onto the sand was exactly what we hoped for. But the one concern my wife expressed when looking at photos was how close the highway was. I read so many reviews describing it as peaceful and quiet. Peaceful may be subjective, but this place is sitting only about a hundred feet from a 55 mph highway that is constantly buzzing with traffic including semis and dump trucks that start before dawn every day and continue well after dark. The noise is continuous, and we were even awakened before dawn with earplugs in by diesel trucks a couple mornings. The house is fine overall, but we did arrive to the couch cushions all turned up on their end and all covered in dog hair and it smelled like wet dog. The property manager did send someone to clean it the next day. The worst thing for us, though, was the very bright overhead light in the master bedroom began turning itself on in the middle of the night 1-2 times every night. It is operated only by remote, and there were no switches on the light itself to turn off. We read about this online and it said that it could just be a bad battery in the remote, so we tried removing it, but it continued to happen. Obviously being awakened like that in the middle of the night every night is not acceptable. So, it's beautiful. But we wanted to sleep too.

Second time staying here and we loved it again! We stayed 10 days this time and enjoyed every second.Only issue we had this time was some questionable wash cloths, and utensils needed to be cleaned. Very minor and easy to deal with and we would certainly still come back and refer our friends/family

The perfect getaway with a beautiful sand beach! We loved that we could easily tie our boat up on the beach :) we caught lots of mangrove snapper and turned it into dinner. Caught nurse and black tip sharks at night. The bed is comfy and everything is nice and clean. Our pup had the best week of her life playing on the beach! We took the boat around long key and saw more than 10 sea turtles, a few dolphins, lots of sharks and barracuda. The bridge has lots of tarpon too. The neighbors were very nice people so sharing the very Large beach was just fine. The place next door kick it BBQ was good food and vacation vibes - and islamorada was just a 15 minute drive to our favorite restaurants. We will return again someday! Zero negatives about this place!

Great, well-maintained property with a new gas grill and coffee maker (New appliances indicate the owners care about the property and their guests). The duplex is the perfect Keys' getaway directly on a private beach. The dwelling is, as described. The star of the show is the south-facing deck (yes, the fabulous and expansive turquoise blue ocean view is southerly here), gazebo and sand where we spent most of our time. In the AM, you can watch the sun rise from the property's private pier then simply, but carefully, walk across the Overseas Highway in the evening to watch it set while dining at at Lick It BBQ & Wood Fired Pizza. Assuming you want privacy and your duplex neighbors are quiet, which they were, this property is a great respite from the busy Keys. Better yet, book both sides for friends or family.

What a place. This was a cozy and quaint 2 bedroom duplex located right on the beach and on the walk/bike path. The house served us quit well but it was the outdoor amenities that truly made this place wonderful. Between the decks and the beach you really want to spend all of your time outside enjoying the view and ocean. I would highly recommend this home and will definitely rent this place again in the future!!

When they say there is no reason to leave, they aren't lying! My husband and I have not been on vacation for 7 years due to family commitments, so this get away was much needed. We stopped at the grocery store to get some meals we could cook and make use of the grill on the porch. We barely left the entire time we were here. No one rented the other side so we had the whole beach area and dock to ourselves. The fishing was awesome! Husband caught a shark! There is also bait for sale across the street as well as a delicious place to eat and they will prepare your fish that you catch! We cannot wait to go back and will be planning another trip here soon.
