We had a week at this home for our bridal party. It was an incredible space that really allowed everyone to get to know each other and deeply enjoyed the space.
We absolutely loved the house and all of the amazing outdoor space. It was great to have a fire in the outdoor fireplace and the kitchen was well stocked. The accommodations were great. The house is quite a drive from Ashland on winding roads - so keep that in mind for your trip planning
This is our second time staying at Reds Cabin. The proximity to Ashland is great! A wonderful place to relax and spend quality time with family. This large cabin on a special piece of property has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Thanks for sharing.
The house was beautiful. Unfortunately it had snowed 2.5 feet and we really couldn’t enjoy the outside as much as we had planned. Took an hour for the tractor to clear out the driveway to the home. And we left a day early due to fear of getting snowed in. Its at altitude so plan accordingly. There were snowshoes available and that was fun.
We love this property. It has become a yearly family getaway that we look forward to all year long.
My wife and I spent four nights celebrating my birthday with two other couples. Great house in a wonderful location. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the downstairs living area is the best. The open floor plan allows everyone to be part of the action. The kitchen is quality and well-stocked. The outdoor areas are the best and we would have spent much more time there if the weather wasn't so cold. The summer would be great for this. Instead, we spent many hours talking by the fireplace. The house is very secluded and quiet with excellent views. One thing to keep in mind is that, although the house has an Ashland address, it is a 35 minute drive from Ashland proper. Not a problem for our group, but be aware if you plan to do a lot of up and back activities. Would definitely stay again.
One of our fave vacation places ever (and I find it my life calling to find the best ones). A beautiful, large, cabin retreat amidst the woods complete with deer, kids capturing frogs/lizards/etc. we loved the home and the area (went zip lining at crater lake, rented boat at Lake of the Woods, jet boated the rogue river, kayaked in the property looks, fishes, etc!). Our kids are 4-10 and all of us can’t wait to return to Red’s cabin! One of the best sets of days ever
Beautiful home and love the location. My only issue is that are no window coverings upstairs in the bedrooms or in the downstairs living areas. It makes you feel your in a fish bowl at night. Plus, without the window coverings in the kids rooms they wake up much earlier than I’d like while on vacation. Lol!
We loved staying at this property. The home was huge and beautiful. It was equipped with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen table seated 12 and it has a huge island for cooking, serving, etc. We loved playing in our own private lake right out the back door, getting on hiking trails, playing bocci ball, and using the beautiful firepit every night. We loved spotting deer walking by every day. We loved the back porch with the walls that could be opened or closed and the huge outdoor fireplace, which we used every night to keep us warm as we played dominoes. We will definitely be back and recommend this property to everyone. The best part was that there was no TV and very little cell service so we were all forced to play together and talk. With teenagers this could be a problem, but ours didn't seem to mind it at all!
This place was an amazing find! We had a group of about 9 high school friends all come to meet up and hang out for an extended weekend. The surrounding area is beautiful, the big open rooms great for board games and general hanging out, and the outdoor fireplace was super awesome. Also we really enjoyed not having wifi at the cabin! Sounds weird right? But it was a great way to enforce getting disconnected from the everyday routine. Definitely planning to stay here again!
