Stayed Nov 1, 2025A very nice mountain house that has several levels allowing for privacy for the various family members (and children). While close to downtown, it feels nice and secluded.

Stayed Oct 9, 2025Our family had a nice weekend stay, the location was very nice and quiet and the home was well stocked with supplies and the rooms were nicely decorated. Having the different areas was spacious for a large family and the beds were comfortable. The lower area was great for the grandparents as it even had it's own entry door. The scenic drive also connects to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and doing the Craggy Pinnacle hike was a fun side trip. It was a good place for a large family to stay while touring the Asheville area.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025Enjoyed our stay in Asheville. House is a quick/easy 10-15 minute trip into Asheville where you will find plenty to do with excellent shopping, restaurants, and breweries to keep you occupied. There are also several trails to explore that are within 20-35 minutes if you want to explore the outdoors (Mountains to Sea trail, Bailey Mountain Preserve in Mars Hill, numerous trails in Black Mountain, Catawba Falls in Old Forte). Keep your pet on a leash while hiking and at the cabin. There are bears in the area. We ran into a momma and her 2 cubs on the mountain to sea trail. She just wanted to be left alone and went on her way. While we were out and about a bear tried to break into the bear proof trash can at the cabin. He/she was able to bend the lid just enough to get a paw down in there to shred the garbage bag and to pull a few items out but didn’t get much. While hiking in Montreat/Black Mountain crossed paths with a timber rattlesnake that we had to gently relocate off of the trail to get on by.House had everything you would need to cook your meals in. Hot tub was nice to relax in the evenings. Nice to have separate living areas for the group to spread out when needed. We didn’t use the fire pit. Area around it was a little overgrown with vines. Would like to see a more defined area where you aren’t sitting in your chair in long grass/vines and bigger fire pit area so we could have hung out there. Other than that would recommend it as a place to stay.

Stayed Jun 18, 2024The home is very nice. 4 comfortable bedrooms. Mama Bear and two cubs were in the woods behind the house. Gorgeous creatures. This is a pet friendly house and while the house was clean there is pet hair.

Stayed May 28, 2024We had a lovely stay at this beautiful home. The size was perfect for our family. We really appreciated that there were bedrooms AND living spaces on each level. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and our son and his wife enjoyed the hot tub. The only issue we had was repeated bear encounters. It was great fun to watch them as we sat on the deck, but More than a bit of a hassle, cleaning up the trash that they strewed all over several times during our stay. I believe the owner is trying to come up with a solution for this, but I know it's difficult because they are determined! In spite of the bears, we had a Great stay at this comfortable mountain home.

Stayed Apr 26, 2024The property is exactly as described. Each of the 4 bedrooms comfortable and quiet. Lots of gathering spaces. Well-equipped kitchen for cooks. No need to go out really. Would certainly use again if in the area.
