Summary:
Walking distance from small business shops, local breweries, eateries and the McGeorge School of Law. Close to the Golden 1 Center, restaurants and bustling midtown; the UC Davis Med Center is roughly 1 mile away, too. There's a small, private outdoor space just next to the garage.

The Space:
This is a 1930's artist’s home with a colorful vibe. 2 bedrooms and a single bathroom. Theres also an outdoor court area with a fire pit. Your booking actually helps real artists within the community! Their art is featured in the house and also available for purchase :)

The Neighborhood:
Oak Park is a rapidly gentrifying area. The area is generally quiet, but the home is near the freeway and there is a slight bustle of passing cars during the day. The house is about a 3 minute walk from the always fun broadway triangle; an area with great shops, breweries, GREAT FOOD and a kick ass bookstore. I love the Plant Foundry (nursery and garden) and i think you might, too.
Also, if you're stopping by in the Summer months (May - September) I highly recommend a visit to Oak Park Gather- a neighborhood event featuring local food and beverage vendors, cool crafts AND live music!

Getting Around:
If you get the chance, try the city's newest form of transit - electric bike sharing! JUMP Bikes are becoming more and more popular in the area and are a really fun way to get around. Of course Uber and Lyft are everywhere too!

Public transportation runs up and down the main cross street (Broadway); although I'm not the best with navigating the routes. Midtown is a 5 minute car ride away.

Other Things to Note:
Please note that the home is close to the highway. There is very subtle car noise at times.

NOTE: We do NOT HAVE cable services. We offer streaming services such as Netflix, Roku, Prime, & Hulu. (Guest has to use their own Netflix account)

Interaction with Guests:
At the front door, you can say Hi with the Nest Video Doorbell - just push the button (if you want to).

Basic household information is on the kitchen table - wifi, tv navigation, lights (alexa), temp control instructions , etc. I've lived in Sacramento now for over 20 years- If you'd like advice on where to go for great food, entertainment or even a leisurely hike, just let me know ;).

This is a cute little house perfect size for four people or three people. The kitchen and the bathroom are great. The beds are comfortable, but the sheets are not a good quality. There’s no blow dryer so bring your own. There is a washer and dryer, but the dryer doesn’t dry hardly And bring your own soap for the washer. There are no smoke detectors that I saw only the ones that had been removed and are in the kitchen drawer. I did ask the host about these items. He did not have a favorable reply. He said they were with the carbon monoxide detector, which I also could not find I asked for picture he refused.. There was a PG&E gas repair during our stay that had me so we lost power for a short time. Other than those items great. Neighborhood is a little sketchy.

The linens on the bed looked like someone had slept on them, they were all baggy & grungy looking. No mattress pad on the bed, the bottom sheet was so thin. I just slept on top of the sheets, it was late. I did text the next day, they asked for pics, so I sent 2, never heard back. The towels & wash cloths were stained & grungy. If you’re using white linens they need to be clean & spotless. Otherwise the house was as listed.

Just wanted to thank Michael for hosting our stay in Sacramento, CA. This location was perfect for my sister and I, as we are both coming from two different directions. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen and bath had everything we needed, well stocked. We are crafters and had such a great time, laughing and catching up that we didn't even turn on the TV. The AC was awesome as it was pretty hot in Sac this past weekend. Starbucks and a Brewery for dinner just down the street, short care ride. I would stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you again Michael!

Very clean and well furnished little house. Perfect for a 5 day stay in Sacramento. Only small detail is that it is close to the highway if you are a light sleeper. I am not, so no problem for me.

We (I) found our hosts to be response and kind, the place was clean, surprisingly quiet. It was nested at the end of a road covered by trees. The property was more than ample for my needs... all amenities provided for. Cute little kitchen, a place to watch TV.. and most importantly comfy beds!. We really did make this our home for the week we were in Sacramento (drove from Colorado) so my daughter could attend a music concert. Within a 5 min drive we found an older part of town with shops and perhaps some of the best food I've ever eaten. We were about 20min from old town Sac, a place you should spend an afternoon at. If ever I come to Sac again, I would stay at this property without issue... I really enjoyed my stay. It provided us a safe place to stay after one of the toughest emotional times of my life. Please consider this property, it was great value, good location... 5 stars.
