Santa Fe, New Mexico
Artisan Adobe - a SkyRun Santa Fe Property
Lush Landscaping and fencing creates a hidden gem from street view, this 1BR authentic adobe home is filled with historical charm and one-of-a-kind antiques. The decorative front door (with carvings depicting lightning, thunderbirds, and Native American symbols) came from the Taos home of famed arts patron, Mabel Dodge Lujan. Inside, the wood balusters were taken from the 20th century Loretto Academy in El Paso. With its stepped, chapel-like front gable, this home radiates Old-World charm and artisan craft, while providing modern conveniences such as ambient floor heating, a Viking gas range, and a private garden sauna.
Rustic brick floors highlight the open-concept ground floor. The living area, situated behind a traditional "key" style adobe opening, is detailed with ample seating and local crafts. Antique Turkish and Southwestern rugs compliment the decor, including the Vigas ceilings salvaged from the ancient Agua Fria village. Unwind on the sofa bed and watch shows on the 46" TV.
Filled with ample natural light the kitchen is equipped with a stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, and Viking gas range. New and modern appliances mix tastefully with local ceramics and vintage Copperware to create an elevated culinary space.
In the dining room, vibrant textiles and pillows line an authentic banco with seating for 10 and a view of the kiva fireplace. Surrounded by antique folk art, photographs, and highlighting two French antique glass windows (repurposed from past art commissions), it is a magical place to host dinner alongside the aura of a wood-burning fireplace.
The upstairs bedroom sleeps two guests on a queen bed brightened with rich, hand-made textiles and hotel-quality linens. Surrounded by windows, views of downtown Santa Fe can be seen from the comforts of bed. A small office alcove offers a quiet place to organize and plan the details of your stay.
Downstairs, the spacious bath has a beautiful stone sink, tiled walk-in shower.
Natural landscaping surrounds this gem including junipers, pines and aspen, a front patio canopied by a pergola offers shade in the summer, while the back garden is a lovely spot for picnics. Follow the lighted stone path up the gently sloped hill to arrive at the sauna.
