Carmel, California
This comfortable, single-story home on a corner lot in Carmel is the perfect spot from which to explore the many splendors of the Monterey Peninsula. Between the living room (with a fireplace for chilly nights) and the cozy den—with a leather sofa and a large TV—you’ll have plenty of room to spread out here. There are two dining areas, one off the living room and a breakfast table beside the large kitchen, which features fresh white cabinetry, a stainless side-by-side refrigerator, a five-burner gas range, and built-in oven/microwave. There’s a twin bedroom (with bunk beds), a powder room, and a laundry room off the kitchen. On the opposite side of the home, you’ll find a Queen bedroom facing a hallway bath with a tub/shower. Further down the hall is the master suite: Queen-sized poster bed, fireplace, and a large TV in an antique armoire. The en suite bath has an oval soaking tub, a walk-in shower and dual sinks. Outdoors, you can while away the hours in the porch swing or dine al fresco in the large backyard under the oaks. And when you're ready to explore, Carmel's storybook downtown is just a short walk away. Two-car garage with driveway and street parking.
Nice and peaceful. Plenty of closet space and not cluttered at all. Sheets should be 100% cotton. Fireplaces are gas.
This is Carmel in the woods, beautiful neighborhood, woodsy, quiet. Property had a great yard front and back. Inside the kitchen and bedrooms were very nice. Just a small matter was the furniture in the living room and sitting room. a little dated. Couch had a cover over it. When you sat down you were around 12 off the floor. We are senior citizens and had a hard time getting up. My wife could not sit on it. There is this big table in the middle of the room. I guess it is a coffee table. I ran into it and hit both my ankles and fell down. Nothing serious. Grandkids also got hit with the corners. An upgrade in this would make this a gem of a house. Still, well worth the time and effort to stay there.
Our stay at Arcadia was great. The house is very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable, water in the shower hot, and all the appliances were newer and in great working condition making it a breeze to cook in the well-equipped kitchen. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood and close to downtown Carmel, though I wouldn’t consider it to be ‘walking distance’ as there are no sidewalks or street lights in the neighborhood so even though it is just over a mile away, I don’t think it would be a practical walk. That definitely wouldn’t prevent me from staying here again, though, as the place checked all the boxes with respect to comfort and quality.
Very nice
The house was as it was represented. It was clean, and we had a nice week there.
I booked Acadia for my parents, children, spouse and myself while we were in town for a wedding. I usually book a vacation home based on bed arrangements and location, so I forgot what it looked like from the website photos until we arrived. I was pleasantly surprised that the house was comfy, well decorated, and huge. My parents and kids arrived before us and my kids exclaimed “this is the best vacation hotel house ever!” They absolutely loved the bunk beds. The house is a bit far from town so we couldn’t really walk in, but it was a quick drive. My only complaint was that the house carried noise, so when my kids woke up early at one end of the house we heard it from the primary suite in the back. Also the primary suite could easily fit a king bed instead of queen, but the queen bed was extremely comfortable. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised and would absolutely recommend this house to others!
Little gem! And not so little! Fabulous neighborhood! Clean!Clean!Clean! Highly recommend and will most definitely be back!
5min drive to town. Good place to stay and then venture out…..
Loved Carmel. Would come back here again and stay at the same property.
Property is very clean. Location is not walking distance from downtown Carmel but a nice quiet neighborhood. Kitchen could use more equipment. It was a good value for the price.
Great location!! Very spacious and clean!!
I would definitely return!
Great property in cute neighborhood close to town! Walkable if you don’t mind 15/20 minute stroll. Home was very clean and had everything needed. Linens were clean and fresh. Cute yard with space to relax/eat lunch/sit in swing. Decor was simple but pleasant. We were grateful for central heating, whereas it was chilly in Carmel. Overall, very happy with the property. There were a couple of things to note. I wouldn’t call them major drawbacks, just things to be aware of either for management to address or guests to be aware of. Probably the biggest issue was when we arrived the door from the garage into the home was locked with no keypad entrance. Went to the front door to enter via the keypad lock. However, not only was the keypad locked, but so was the bottom door knob. So, even if you unlocked the keypad, the door was still locked. Contacted the number from our email and had to wait before we got a response. In the meantime, we rummaged through the cupboards in the garage and found some physical keys that thankfully opened the front door. Apparently the bottom lock on the front door was not supposed to be locked but there literally would have been no way for us to get in had we not found the keys in the garage. Two of the reasons we chose this place was there were gas fireplaces but unfortunately no instructions as to how to use them and never got a response. And an office. Hubby needed it but was full of storage. Ant problem in the master bathroom. We did love it though!
Kyle and his team were absolutely fabulous. They took our rental on extremely short notice. The home was cozy and charming just like the wonderful town of Carmel by the sea. Highly recommend!
