Alpenhaus Lodge w/ Deck, Spa & Panoramic Views 1028

Overall it was a good stay. There are no bathrooms on main floor. My step father fell down the basement stairs and broke his femur. Not the property’s fault but due to lack of major details and it being a rustic cabin, elderly probably should not stay here. Other than that we found a rocking chair that was wonky but sturdy enough however I sat in it and it broke. Coffee went flying. I only weigh 130 lbs mind you. After inspection it was broke to begin with perhaps a previous renter broke it and tried to put it back together. Properties manager was attentive enough. We checked in 4 minutes early and the code didn’t work. My mother was the first to arrive and didn’t have manager’s number. I texted him and said he got them inside and showed them around. I asked how he knew they were there and he said they called him. Which was a lie. They have cameras every where. Which is posted outside but he should have been honest. For the money I would stay somewhere else next time. I am a co native and visit steamboat often. There are other gems near by to stay at.

Great place and spot

We stayed at this property for three nights. The location was great and made it possible for us to spend lots of time together and not driving from location to location for food or entertainment. We had plenty of room for all of us to spread out when the little ones needed quiet for sleeping. The hot tub provided a stunning soaking view of the valley. We did experience spiders on the ground floor sleeping area that bit one of our family members. Hopefully, there is routine spraying of the property since it is a log home. Also, it is not a safe rental location for families with young children under the age of 5 because of the stairs and the stair railing that allows little bodies to stick their heads through. We were able to block the stairs with furniture to avoid accidents.

the driveway was not plowed super slippery even with a 4 wheel drive, i asked for it to be scraped instead they threw salt down, not enough

This house was cozy and had more than enough room for the 6 of us. The view from the spa is fantastic. Location to downtown and ski resort was just right. And communication with property manager was excellent!

Our group really enjoyed our stay at the house. All of my friends commented on a great find with its location, the size, and the overall vibe of the house. We had a few hiccups, but the management team's communication was excellent. For those planning on staying, I would recommend slippers/grippy socks since the stairs are pretty slick, and we had one person bruise their tailbone during the stay. The other is to make sure you have snow tires on AWD cars-- two cars had to be towed up the top of the hill after some snow the night before.

From early communication with the rental team, to the actual stay at this beautiful home, our experience was amazing. I had lots of questions, each of which was answered quickly and with care and compassion. The house overlooks the beautiful valley of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We loved the hot tub, the kitchen (wow!) and coming together as a family over board games and conversation. Thank you for a beautiful and memorable experience for all of us!
