Grand Isle, Louisiana
Update after Hurricane IDA : All repairs are complete and the camps are fully functional with Internet.
So my brother n law and I have been spearfishing out of cypermort point since we were teenagers and when we discovered grandisle we thought we found Paradise. The only problem was, Everytime we tried to bring our wives they were always reluctant to come. saying "there's no nice places up there" I guess after you here something long enough you decide to do something... so, boom "Almost Amaris" was built, a paradise within a paradise!! no more excuses.... righttt well now it's "the water's to dirty". Well I'ma sit out on that one fellas ... Anyhow This luxurious hand crafted 4 bedroom 3 bath paradise offers; granite slab counter tops, stainless appliances, WIFI access, 55'' LCD flat screen TV with cable access, Boiling pot for craw-fish boils and a master suite. It has a total of 11 beds; 3 queens 2 fulls and 6 twins, so sleeping your pirate crew won't be an issue. You will have access to everything but the shed downstairs and the closet off the pantry. There's nothing to see in there anyway, just a bunch of dusty old gold and silver from Jean Laffites pirate ship. ....... Just kidding!!! but for real though.... if you look from the balcony towards the far end of the island you will see a large brick fort (fort Livingston). This is actually a fort built by Jean Laffites pirates back in 1840s . If you have access to a boat you can visit it. It's pretty neat, we went a few times. ..... and yes, Unfortunately, our boat is not of access... unless there's some gold or silver in exchange, of course. If you need something I live in Lafayette so I may be of no help... but I know a few Macgyvers that work on the island. Some people ask us why we named the camp "Almost Amaris". Well the name Amaris means "promised by God" but please, don't be to quick to judge. We had the name picked out before we knew the meaning really..... So If you were at our camp gazing off the back porch you would have sites of beautiful luxurious private homes that belong to a high end gated community called "Amaris" .. it's the neighborhood that we almost belong too Idk if there's Uber out there. But if there is, your driver may show up in a boat and if he isn't in a boat, then he's definitely pulling one. We are right across the street from the state park, and all though it may cost a few bucks to get in, you have a pond with fishing piers and miles of beaches. unfortunately "the water is still dirty" there too..

Nice weekend getaway with the family, the house is conveniently right across from the State Park, about a 2 minute drive to the marina and about 1 mile away from the public beach with golf cart access. Lots of parking space and a large screen in area downstairs with a fish cleaning station. Definitely would stay here again.
Always a great experience.
Almost Amaris was probably the cleanest and well equipped place we have stayed at on Grand Isle. This was our 7th time coming down and although the weather didn’t cooperate with fishing , the accommodations made the trip comfortable during our down time.
Very nice, will be booking again
We have stayed here before and loved it, so we decided to rent it again. Having 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms is perfect for my family. We love the location, and the screened in hangout area. We plan on staying again next summer.
The home was very clean upon arriving and very well maintained. Every room in the home was in perfect shape without any issues. Bath tubs, showers, and toilets were very clean and worked as it should. The kitchen was huge and stocked with everything you would need for your stay. Everything in the listing was exactly as described but I would say the home looks better in person. I was surprised how big the place was once you get inside. We were a group of 13 men for a bachelor party weekend and we had no problems with space. We spent most of our time downstairs inside the screened porch. There are plenty of tables and chairs out side so we were able to hang out and have plenty of room. I didn't need anything from the owner other than a few questions before we arrived and I had zero issues with communication. The home was in a good location as well. Close enough to stores if needed, but not right in the middle of town. I don't have any complaints on this property and would definitely stay here again.
We all had a wonderful time, the space was great and very clean. They do new to replace the mattress. Make sure you bring all paper products, bath soap, larger coffee cups. You will also need to bring chairs for the out doors. The stair are shaky and a bear to carry luggage up . I would stay again if they would install lift.
We loved staying at Almost Amaris. The house was clean, the kitchen was spacious, the couch was comfy, and there are plenty of beds! Great Things About this Placs * Comfy, spacious couch * Wonderful dining area * Washer/Dryer * Location, location, location * Screened area under the house Reasons we gave a 4, not a 5 * the railing on the stairs and porch feels like it could fall over any minute - be VERY careful if you have children staying here * there was a whole list of rules not included in the VRBO listing. I’m not sure how strictly they are enforced, but was glad I decided to read the pages, because if I hadn’t texted the house keeping company on the night of our arrival, we would have been charged for 4 towels that were missing before our arrival Overall, a wonderful property to stay at with family or for a fishing trip. We would happily stay at Almost Amaris again!
Loved it! Beautiful and spacious! So nice to have three bathrooms!
Enjoyed our stay. Very clean property. Short drive to marina.
