AIN'T LIFE GRAND-KAYAKS, GOLF CART, PRIVATE BEACH, CRAB TRAPS!

This was the 3rd year coming back to this house for a family spring break. As usual, everything was clean and in great working order. The kids love the pool, we also fish off the beach in front of the house and explore the canals and shorelines with the kayaks. The golf cart is great to get around the the island. John is an awesome host and always responds quickly if we have any questions. We would love to come back next year!

This house is absolutely amazing! Being right next to the water was really nice. Plenty of room, great big, clean kitchen, and amazing laundry room. Having the kayaks there was so great for the kids. The porch on top was stunning. Every evening we went there and watched the most amazing sunsets. And renting the golf cart was icing on the cake. And having the gulf side within walking distance was great. John was so easy to talk to and get in touch when needed. I can't wait to go back to this place.

“Ain’t Life Grand” truly is grand!!!! The house provided us with everything we needed while in beautiful Dauphin Island, AL. The pool was an absolute hit with the kids, both young and old! The entire week there were red flag warnings on the Gulf but it was a light breeze and warm at the house. Porch overlooking the pool and beach made it easy to keep an eye on the kids while still relaxing. Josh was a very transparent host and like our own private travel agent about the area. At the end of a dead end road, there was very little traffic and there really was very little traffic on the entire island! Area was very safe for runs and family walks. If you’re looking for a private place to make great family memories, “Ain’t Life Grand” is an ace in the hole!

John was very welcoming, had great suggestions and helpful to make the stay great. Beautiful place and kids loved having beach and pool for options!

John was great host with excellent communication. House was clean and had everything we needed. I rated as good and not excellent b/c the kitchen was a little rough, it could use some TLC and the lighting could use a few dimmer switches. But that didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time!

Extremely quiet and private location, this home has everything we need. The size, price and amenities are perfect for our family. This is our second visit and we plan to stay again next year!

Best vacation rental ever. The perfect place for peace and quiet, nature and ... did I mention quiet. A great place to unwind. Communication with owner was awesome.

We had a wonderful stay at Ain’t Life Grand! This was our first time on the bayside rather than the gulf, and we loved it. The calm, shallow waters and little beach area were perfect for our kids. We enjoyed daily walks along the shoreline, and the golf cart made it easy to explore the island and visit the gulf side, just down the road.The house was very clean, and the upper deck—accessible from both the living room and bedrooms—was a favorite spot for our family to relax. Our kids especially loved the pool, and having kayaks available was such a nice bonus.John was an excellent host, and we would absolutely stay here again!

Super clean place and right on the beach!! Perfect place for what we wanted in a vacation home! We had such a blast!

Great bay location. We now prefer the bayside of the island. Quiet and peaceful beach right in front the house. Get the golf cart, so fun to drive all over the island in it. Pool is such a great option when waves are rough or you are tired of the sand. Kids loved hitting the beach in the am and the pool in the afternoon.

We enjoyed this house so much. The bay / pool combo was incredible for us! We had direct beach access with no harsh waves or crowds. Plus the pool for when we were sick of the sand. And the gulf side was about a 2 minute golf cart ride away.The added golf cart rental is a MUST. We didn’t use the cars at all once we were there and put quite a few miles on that golf cart just touring the island. The sunsets were unreal on that beautiful back porch!And for those with young kids, there is an iron fence with gates around the pool now which was a huge bonus for us with a curious toddler. John was super helpful with check in and when we had bad weather moving in. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful vacation! It was the perfect spot perfect spot for privacy on our own little beach. We saw so many sea creatures from hermit crabs, blue crabs, seeing stingrays and dolphins!

This was our second time staying in this home. It does not disappoint...lots of room to spread out. With the heat, we were mostly in the pool. There were all kinds of floats to use and toys to play with. The beach is perfect and only a few steps away. We saw sting rays, alot of hermit crabs and dolphins twice! Hoping to be back next year!

We had the perfect beach week at this amazing property. Our daughter and her friend went from the beach, to the pool, to the kayaks, to shell finding, to searching for hermit crabs. There was so much to do without even leaving the house. We will be back for sure. It was a fantastic week!

We loved our time on DI!!! This house was perfect for family. It is decorated beautifully, but still comfy and beachy! The pool and private beach in your backyard is awesome! The pool is gated and safe for little ones. There is access to the Gulf side beach just across the street from the neighborhood. It's a short walk, but the golfcart made it a lot easier. Driving the golfcart made exploring the island, running errands, and getting snow cones way more fun!! John was a great host! We will definitely be back!!

So wonderful we book every year! The owner is kind and attentive when needed, and allows you peacefully enjoy your stay. We LOVE this house!

John is an amazing host! He set the expectations before we arrived. The house was right on the water with plenty of water toys. The pool was wonderful but would have loved a few loungers for sun bathing. We are from the Midwest so we were not familiar with the area. John helped and his recommendations were great but we found taking the ferry to Fort Morgan and going to Publix was better for us than Greers grocery. Our kiddos have a few allergies and Publix had more choices. I feel the best part of this trip was how laidback it was and you have no choice but to disconnect and stay in the moment. Our kids loved the freedom of being able to explore while feeling safe. Thank You John & family!

We liked this property so much last year and had to come back. The pool was perfect. We caught fish from the beach and in kayaks. John is an excellent host, I hope we can do it again next year.

This is a great location, on the sound side of the island less wind but all the sun. Great amenities, pool and gold cart are a must! The owner was very nice and helpful!

House was beautiful, clean, comfortable. Really enjoyed the go cart and highly recommend renting it. We had some issues with the pool heating and kayak but they were resolved very quickly. Communication with John was impressive and we are looking forward to staying again!

We really enjoyed our stay! The owners were very nice and checked in with us to make sure everything went well. The house was clean and just as advertised and the neighborhood was very quiet. This was our first stay on the gulf and couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

The property was just perfect for our family . The beach , pool and view were amazing ! You even had a view of the beach and bay from 2 of the bedrooms, which also had glass doors opening to the upper deck. The pictures can’t possibly do it justice.

The perfect beach house for children. Pool was wonderful, we had it heated, and the beach was literally 7 steps away. I would recommend adding the golf cart. We didn’t use our car the whole time. John was an amazing host with exceptional communication. We will be back!

First off, the owners are the most amazing, friendliest, and honest people. We had the most amazing trip and John made the whole process easy and stress free. The house was very clean and I just can’t put into words how stress free this trip was. During our stay we had the threat of a hurricane, and we didn’t even have to worry about that because John watched it hour by hour and assured us that he would let us know if there was even a doubt of our safety. He said he would refund us but thankfully, we didn’t get affected by the hurricane. I couldn’t recommend this place more!!

Great location for fishing, crabbing, swimming and resting.

The property is perfect in location and beauty. It has all the amenities and more. I highly recommend this as your next beach vacation. It is a spacious home, well equipped for cooking in and the outdoor space is amazing. The pool is wonderful for coming home to after a day at the beach when you need to get away from the sand and heat. I also want to say that the owner looks out for your every need including any tropical storms that might head your way. He is all about your safety! We will definitely be returning!

This was a great way to slow down and just spend time with the family. There are not many distractions on the island. With less attractions we were able to just enjoy each other's company.

Great place! Loved it so much the 1st time, we came back 2yrs later for another week. The owner reached out before and during our stay for updates, which I think is cool and the house remains in great shape. I took my kids kayaking every evening to catch the sunset in the sound and it was awesome. During our week stay, we had 2 pool visits for pH checks which made me feel better about both kids in the water almost all day. Beautiful location, well kept house and friendly owner. We are getting this house again next summer!

Hi there! I wanted to comment on what a lovely week my two adult children and I had staying at Ain't Life Grand! We returned from Dauphin Island three days ago and are already looking forward to returning as soon as we can! The owner's of the property are top notch! They have thought of everything to welcome newcomers to the island and their home! The private beach on the bay and the chlorinated swimming pool were having the best of both worlds at our feet. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. The photographs are accurate and depict the many amenities needed for a visit to DI.
