Nice and quite home right next to a delicious coffee shop
As advertised
The house is nice - close to Stowe and the attractions, but within minutes of arrival we found that three of the rooms had no power, and no heat in the house. We called Vacasa several times throughout the night, but ended up sleeping in a 50 degree house. The heat was eventually fixed, but only after continual pressure, and after 30 hours in a cold home.
This was a great location with beautiful views. The house is very charming and comfortable. We choose this place to stay because I am a big fan of the Nomadic Movement you tube channel and they own the coffee house The Roastry that is directly in front of the house. They had great coffee the town of Stowe was very quaint and such a fun little town. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Word of caution be very careful on the steps going to the upstairs bedroom. They are very slick and my sister fell all the way down them.
We loved the little red schoolhouse! The house was cozy and the view from the loft was great to wake up to. Our favorite part was walking over to The Roastery each morning for a cup of coffee.
We stumbled on a gem, here. This is a coffee lover’s heaven. The school house was really charming and had everything we needed. The washer dryer was a great add. The coffee Roastery out front was the best cup of coffee I have ever had in my life. So amazing to wake up to a fresh cup in a few steps and sit out back and enjoy the views in the yard. A great find. We will be back.
Great stay but could not find how to message host online with a couple of queries. Messaged VRBO with no response. Thanks Sue
My family loved the historic schoolhouse retreat. There was plenty of space for a family of four. Quick to get to the ski mountain, while also feeling like we had space from the crowds. Great master loft, for the adult relaxation area. Kids enjoyed the downstairs and nooks. Lots of charm and amenities. Easy access to the coffee shop and grocery. Would definitely stay again.
Loved the house itself as it was quaint and very cool. Coffee shop in front opened late 8am and didnt have anything but coffee which was disappointing. Local roads were too busy to walk my dog. Walkway, driveway, and stairs were frozen and were a slip hazard. My friend actually went down hard in the driveway and bruised his elbow.
Great place. Close to everything. Amazing coffee shop right out front. Had everything we needed. Music in every room. Charger ports. Washer/Dryer was also excellent to have. We will be back again.
We completely enjoyed our stay at the schoolhouse. We stayed 4 nights including a couple of non-ski days where there was plenty of space for lounging for 4 or more. It was well equipped with SmartTV’s and furnishings with a good size kitchen for meals or snacks. We would definitely return again.
Really enjoyed our stay. House was comfortable and a great value for the price. Has everything we needed. Washer/dryer was great. Music speakers in every room. Phone Chargers. Coffee shop amazing out front. Perfect VT retreat for us.
Loved the heated bathroom floor. House was cozy/warm. It was nice to have speakers in every room for music and smart controls for lights. iPhone chargers in each room. Great value price. Coffee shop out front was great too
The house was perfect. Loved the history/charm of the school house and had everything we needed. The coffee shop, “The Roastery” was a nice surprise. Amazing cup of coffee. Overall, fun place to stay close to everything and nice to be able to get fresh roasted coffee outside the front door.
Really enjoyed our stay. Had all the little touches (Alexa, music, tv) and everything we needed. A brand new coffee shop just opened on site and they gave us a sneak peek - best cup of coffee I have ever had! Close to everything. Cozy loft bedroom. Coffee outside the front door, what more can I ask for?
Schoolhouse was cozy, and had everything we needed. Heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. Loft bedroom adds a great cabin-feel overlooking the valley and mountain out back. Love that they have a Coffee Roastery and shop opening up soon on the property which will be perfect. This place was an amazing value for the price. We will be back.
The house and location was perfect. The house is really cool given it was the first schoolhouse in Stowe. Lots of history and charm. Beds very comfortable, nice bathroom, functional farmhouse kitchen. Lots of streaming tv channels. Each room has a fan which was perfect. Really cool thing is a new coffee shop opening right up front. This will be really nice when we come back.
We liked our stay! The mountain is very impressive!
Loved the house and it’s location. Perfect for a family of 6 or a couple! I stayed in the master bedroom upstairs, so gorgeous to wake up and see the greenery and mountains out the huge windows with my wood ceiling it felt so luxurious and cabin esq. The center of town is super close, as well as waterfalls and trails. Would def stay again because it’s that balance of modern & off the grid. Thank you for keeping this place so cozy and unique!
Such a great time at this historic old schoolhouse! We will definitely be returning here again - soon, I hope, if it isn't already booked up!
property was modern inside and has a great loft bedroom view and feel. The property is situated oddly behind another building off Rt 100 which was not shown in the photos until we received the listing after booking from the management company. I am not sure I would have booked but in the end was fine in terms of the setup. Property management company was not very responsive day of checkin - took 5+ hours to respond to simple inquiry. Flies in house were annoying but it was clean. Location was close to town and accessible to all our activities.
Such a cute schoolhouse - we really enjoyed our stay. It has everything we needed and very close to shopping, paths, waterfalls, etc. It even had an apple tree like a quintessential Vermont Schoolhouse! We will definitely be back.
It was not good. The smell of the hard water was sickening. So much so that we were forced to move out and find a new location. Of the 3 nights/4 days, we were only refunded for one. We lost one of those days by staying at the house waiting g for phone calls and property managers to come witness the grotesque hard water smell of fecal matter which we showered in and brushed our teeth in. Terrible terrible terrible experience
