Also, they’re so friendly and helpful and that’s super important to me!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the cabin is phenomenal. In my opinion it is too pricey for what was offered. The cabin was relatively small. The pictures are somewhat deceiving. We could not get the AC to work as it was very hot during the day but was cold at night so it would even it out. The dock is terrible for fishing. The seaweed was out of control and the water is not for swimming as it is very dirty. The blinds were broken which was not a big deal but I did not want to be charged for it which as of now I haven’t been. Lastly the hot tub took a whole day to get hot enough for use. We would have liked it to be ready the night we arrived. Other than those discrepancies I would say the biggest thing is it is just over priced and would be more understandable if it were cheaper.

However, we were disappointed that the bathroom wasn't cleaner, there were no coffee mugs, the carpet was really dirty, and the pillows were flat. A deep clean and small make-over would make a huge difference. The view, general space, and hot tub were nice.

It was disgusting stains in many places. I took the vacuum out it had a beyond dirty filter and looked like thick pet hair that container hadn't been empty for a long time. Wallpaper peeling in many areas from walls in bathroom. We liked location but wont recommend this unit.

Reviewer Comments: The fridge and hot tub didn't work ,but there was small markets and 2 major grocery store near by so I didn't mind. The view was lovely and since its spring not many people were there so i enjoyed the privacy. The dock is a nice way to enjoy the water even if you dont swim its nice to soak up some sun and enjoy the view. They had a horseshoe area, a grill and the deck is nice to just sit and enjoy some drinks. I was lucky enough to enjoy the snow for ine day and i lived being able to see it through the skylights in the room. I had a lovely experience overall, it was clean, easy to check in and check out. They provided enough linen and i love the fact that you have to dispose of your own trash if not you get charged because many of us leave a mess behind.

Reviewer Comments: It was unclear where the lock box for the key of the house would be. Since the entrance of the unit is on top of the stairs, it would have been nice if it was specified in the check-in instructions that the lock box is at the bottom of the stairs.The checkout instructions should be communicated succinctly. There were a lot of instructions to follow for the checkout which was mixed with other information in an email. It may help to attach the instructions as a PDF file instead of adding it with other information in an email. From booking to checkout, the communication about the stay should be streamlined. I received a total of 12 emails from Big Bear Lakefront Cabins. That's a lot. In general, unless something is wrong, guests don't expect to receive messages during their stay. I saw several emails come through during my stay and wasn't sure if I needed to act upon anything. This deviated our attention from enjoying the trip to making sure we didn't miss doing something for the cabins. It was encouraged that an app should be used for our stay. I downloaded the app before our arrival but the app did not include the code for the lock box. I had to look up the code from my email and was left unsure what I should use the app for and what I should look up the emails for. There should be one form of communication vs. multiple and should be ensured the suggested one has all the information.We set the thermostat to 55 before checking out, as was mentioned in the checkout instructions. After setting it to 55, the thermostat kept showing the current room temperature after a few seconds. We had to set the temperature to 55 several times but we weren't sure if the thermostat is correctly setting the temperature. Since the instructions emphasize a lot on setting the temperature to 55 to avoid additional fees, it should also be clarified if the thermostat is expected to work this way so the guests are not wondering if they will be charged the fees.
