Historic Adams Travis Haus is one of only seven historic houses in Fredericksburg on the Gillespie County Historical Society Tour in November of 2022. With features such as stone walls and high ceilings, this home retains much of its original appeal while still possessing the modern conveniences needed to make yourstay comfortable. A romantic getaway for two located just a couple of blocks from downtown Fredericksburg's Main Street and Marktplatz.

Gather in the cozy living room in the Adams Travis house, which is furnished with a spacious leather sofa and multiple accent chairs. The exposed stone walls throughout the living room make you feel as if you've stepped into a bygone era. The charm continues in the kitchen, which retains much of this historic home's original cabinetry. A full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and oven makes extended stays convenient. All of the dishes, utensils, and cookware needed for preparing meals is provided, which can be enjoyed at the eat-in kitchen table or more formal table in the separate dining room.

The cool tile underfoot and soft neutral colors in the master bedroom make this a restful haven. The room is spacious and airy. Soft white linens drape the bed, while two ambiance lights hanging over the bed add a modern touch. A flat screen TV is located in the bedroom for unwinding with a movie in the evening. It is unobtrusive, allowing you also to unplug and disconnect from the world during your getaway if you so choose. Take plenty of time getting ready in the spacious bathroom, where you can pull a stool up to the extended vanity. The bathroom also features a fabulous marble and travertine walk-in shower.

Enjoy extended living space outside, where you can relax in your hand-made Amish gliders around the fire-pit or take a long soak in your own private hot tub. In addition to this home's amenities, all of the activities offered in downtown Fredericksburg are just a short stroll away. Located just a couple of blocks off of Fredericksburg's historic Main Street, you can easily walk to a host of shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and art galleries from your accommodations. Pick up your favorite bottle of wine from one of the many vineyards and wineries in the Fredericksburg area, and retreat back to the privacy of the romantic Adams Travis house! If you are looking for a compound that will sleep up to 4 Fred Haus sits right next door to Adams Travis house, rent both for a couples weekend, Friend's getaway or girls retreat!

Lovely step back into central Texas of yesterday. Beautiful home just like the photos! Cozy without feeling at all cramped. Nicely appointed amenities, lacking in nothing. Only suggestions: install shower head that provides more pressure, mention to cleaning folks to clean rim of toilet bowl. Also Adams is a very busy street in the mornings so somewhat noisy. Overall a wonderful place to stay—will be back!

This was our second stay at the Adams house. We love how cozy the house is! The fireplace and hot tub are an added plus! We love how downtown strip is walking distance! We will definitely be back for a 3rd visit!

This home is historic. You feel like you are in the 1800s. We loved it. Comfortable, cozy with everything we needed. 2 blocks from the square. Just perfect. Highly recommend.

The home was very comfortable, and spacious. Absolutely loved the hill country vibe. The only thing that caused pause was the landscaping curb appeal. Basically couldn’t see house from the street due to the overgrown shrubs. We almost didn’t get out of the car. I get it’s “rustic” I assume that’s the aesthetic, but other old homes have manicured lawns. The hot tub was warm, but not inviting due to many leaves in it, we did not use it. But overall we would stay again, but would take these items into consideration. Beautiful home, and excellent communication with property managers!

The house was just as described. We loved the uniqueness and history of the home. The location is good but the traffic and noise of traffic (a lot of commercial trucks) was bothersome. The hot tub was not clean. It “looked” clean but was slimy and slippery and smelled like pond water. The next day I developed an “unexplainable rash” per the Urgent Care doctor. Of course not sure of the cause of rash but very suspicious of the hot tub. Several comments were made by previous guests about “all the little touches” that were so nice. I don't know of any special touches on our visit. The quilt on the bed had an OBVIOUS tear/hole in it. For that price point and competition in the area, replace the quilt! Also, there was poor water pressure in shower. Other sinks had plenty. We still enjoyed our stay, celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary.

Property was excellent for a couple wanting to get away. Cozy and everything we needed. The only downfall was that we had to buy a 89.00 subscription to watch regular or live TV.

We just have a couple of suggestions for the owners. First, the shower water pressure is very low. It looks like the shower head needs to be replaced or scrubbed really well as it is rather corroded. Second, the coffee maker seems to have a problem. It is very, very slow to make a pot of coffee. Other than those 2 items we loved this house & would definitely stay here again. It is very convenient & within walking distance to restaurants & shopping. Thank you for a wonderful three night stay!

This older home was nice and cozy. It was close to Main Street, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The only negatives were the strong ash smell from fireplace and some of the dishes were dirty, and had to be washed before we used them.

Wow. We loved the house and the location. We stay at a lot of VRBO places and most are lacking enough towels, throw blankets for the sofa, etc… not this place. It was perfect.

This home was so fun to stay in. They provided all the amenities. With that said, I would improve two things…a kleenex box and sharp knives! Definitely a private retreat close to town that anyone would enjoy. We took our cavalier and she loved it! Easy to get her outside with only a step or two down. This home would be nice for anyone with a handicap. Would stay again!

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this charming cozy cottage. It's convenient to everything and we love not being in a location on Main Street to listen to the heavy traffic all the time. It was nice relaxing in the hot tub for two each evening after wine tastings. My husband told me he didn't know the thread count of the sheets & pillowcases but he loved the softness. I thought our bamboo sheets were soft but nothing like these at all. I'm looking into buying some.

When can we move in. My husband and I loved this historical home. I wanted to cook in the kitchen but will need to book another stay to do that. We had everything we needed. Short walk to our favorite restaurant and the Mesquite Festival Grounds.
