The house was very clean, lovely and well decorated, in a great location with plenty of beach chairs, pool chairs, and beach towels. Once the pool was heated up, we enjoyed it as well as the hot tub. Rooms were spacious and kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils. Enjoyed dinner and game time each night at the large table for eight.

Based on prior conversations with owner, we were led to believe the property would be suitable for our 9 day stay over Thanksgiving. That was not the case. The condition of the property upon arrival was unacceptable. A storm occured a month prior left a pool full of sand, (she mentioned pool out of order) sandy bottom in hot tub, all chairs around pool area and observation area covered in sand. Sand was even on window sills in Dining area...which indicates a lack of proper cleaning. Which was evident throught the entire home. Interior furnishings well worn...linens cheap and well past their prime. Sheets on master and other bedroom except kids rooms, were thin, cheap and just downright awful. No rugs in bathroom areas...these are not option extras but basic expectations for a rental property on the ocean...not inexpensive either! This cottage DID NOT represent the VRBO listing. A Huge disappointment not to mention...waist of money. I have been going to Nags Head for over 40yrs. and never have I ever had such a disappointing stay.

The pool was unusable for the majority of our stay. We left early because the host refused to have the pool cleaned to be usable. The home is not as advertised and is in poor condition. The host made up a charge not on our rental agreement when I brought up these concerns. Choose a different property and host.

Great location.

Overall, the house was quite shabby for the price point. The pictures are more flattering than the actual property. FYI: I cleaned the gas grill grates but was charged the 75 grill cleaning fee. They expected it to also be cleaned UNDER the grates and burners. CONS: The pool deck had raised rusty nails and splinters. The moldy smell mentioned in multiple reviews is strongest in the basement bedroom. The comforters on the beds are quite old with holes. Toilet paper and towel wall racks are falling off the walls. The ceilings had water stains. The kitchen had ants.The quickest route to the back deck and pool is through the master bedroom, making it less private. The dinning table is in a corner, making it a tight fit for more than four people. The top floor deck has seating built into the railing that makes it less safe for small children. Parking is very tight for more than two cars.PROS: The pool would get sandy from the wind, but a pool cleaner came mid week to clean it out. The view and location are amazing. You can quickly walk to a nice restaurant on the pier via the beach. The outdoor shower was nice.Plenty of beach towels are provided.

The home was the perfect size for our family of 11.

The house was great - very comfortable and a lot of room for our family of 7. Close to the beach, had lots of beach chairs, towels and toys available. The house had everything we needed!

We had a great time during our stay. The property was in a good location and very clean with a lot of room to spread out. The pool and hot tub were perfect and where we spent a lot of time along with the kitchen and upstairs family room. The host provided a lot of extra pool toys, puzzles, games, and the kitchen had a lot of tools to cook with. I do wish the pots and pans were newer. They are well used by many! Easy check in and check out and the host is very communicative. Thank you for a great time!

This is a fantastic property! The house is beautifully maintained and decorated. The pool is WONDERFUL! And, the location on the beach with a clear view to the ocean is perfect. We spent a lot of time on the decks looking out onto the ocean. Like many other OBX properties that are suitable for a large family, there are lots of stairs - not a problem for most. I highly recommend this beautiful beach home. Oh, and I appreciated the kitchen stocked with all the normal things - spices, condiments, and much more.

Our stay was amazing! This house has everything you can think of that you’ll need. The hosts were super accommodating and very responsive. They don’t ask much of you at checkout which is so nice because it’s already stressful enough trying to pack. We are truly grateful to have been able to stay here!

This was the perfect spot for us to meet our adult sons for Thanksgiving. The kitchen was equipped enough to cook a Thanksgiving feast!. The boys enjoyed the hot tub while we read, puzzled and relaxed inside. Within walking distance to both piers and November weather is perfect for a walk between them. There was something for everyone here, and plenty of room to spread out. Thank you for everything!

Beautiful home and perfect for our family. The decor was outstanding and the cleanliness was excellent. Walking to the beach was great and easy to access. The top balcony offered stunning views of the ocean. The home is complete with all the necessary amenities for both adults and young children to enjoy and have a good time. The home was full of items such as bicycles, beach towels, pool/sand toys, game boards, books to read while relaxing, a pool, and a hot tub. This is a wonderful place, and it has been one of the best vacation homes I've ever stayed in.

We were greatly looking forward to our week at the beach with my spouse, our 3 children and parents. When we arrived numerous things in the house were broken or not working. However, the owner addressed the issues within 48 hours. On our 2nd day in the house, my 2 young children were body surfing in the ocean, laughing and having fun. They are black and were subjected to unrelenting, awful racist insults but someone who said he was a neighbor (although not one of the immediate neighbors). The following day those same neighbors planted their beach chairs immediately next to our house and continued to harass our children and us. My husband and I are a same-sex couple, and the family rolled their eyes and made insulting gestures whenever we walked by. We have never experienced such brazen racism and homophobia. We left on our 2nd day, feeling unsafe and extremely disturbed by our stay. If you're LGBT or people of color, I would be cautious about vacationing here.

Pros: Ocean and pool out back door. Cons: Water problems-water dripping from ceiling on master bed, water saturated carpet in one bedroom. Lowest level smells damp at all times. Was surprised
