The property was perfect, had everything we needed and then some. We just were not aware/prepared that there was not really a grocery store there on the island. What they had was super pricey and not a lot of option. Overall would stay there again, just be a bit more prepared.

The place was great! Clean and cute beach/ lighthouse theme thru out. Love that they take pets. Really wanted right on the beach but had our dog but was way closer than we thought at first literally a street away!! Had a cute hang out spot for BBQs and fun under the house!! All together a great time well worth the price!!

I found this home to be utterly charming and delightful. It was very clean. Very well licated for access to anything on Dauphin Island. I will come here again.

My famy stayed this last week, and some of the reviews were vague, so here is our experience: Pros: Very clean Somewhat private Convenient to town but low traffic area The freezer absolutely worked and had ice cube trays Air conditioner kept is cool on the 90+ degree days, and it was very evenly cooled. Especially since every room had a fan. Nice stove, flat top, pretty modern. Dishwasher worked pretty well. Cons: The listing does not elude to the fact that there is an apartment on the same property. Although the neighbors were very very nice and stayed to themselves, it would have been really nice to know before hand, i was wanting the privacy of a single family home. The apartment literally connects with stairs to the deck, and even though there is a gate blocking if they are outside while we are, we can aee and hear everything they do and vice versa. The home is dated. It could really use some updates to decor, as well as tub/shower/towel storage, it all looks like the 80s. The shower head needs some clr, it sprays everywhere The front walkway on the house looks like it will fall any moment. I was not comfortable using it, it is so uneven and leaning downward. The dryer sounds like eat is trying to eat your clothea. It is so loud it is impossible to hear anything else. The washer was pretty loud too. All in all, it worked okay for what we needed, but probably will choose something different next time.

House is very comfortable. Had everything we needed for cooking and eating. Bed is comfortable. Heating or cooling works well. Area is fairly quiet and easy to get to. Enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely home with a beautiful, full width of the house, covered deck and 2 large patio doors that were sparkling clean upon our arrival. The neighborhood is quiet and birds serenade you. It is a 1/2 mile walk to the beach parking lot and eating establishments.

Very comfy place to stay on Dauphin Island.

Loved the back deck and swing, quiet neighborhood. Very well stocked and comfortable. Twin mattresses need to be replaced, new bathroom rugs and towels also. Cleaning lady does a fabulous job. Overall 5 stars!

The home had everything we needed. It was clean and tidy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Very nice! Didn't realize there was another rental property in the backyard so we did get a little scare when people pulled up and started walking under the porch to the backyard. Short walk to the beach. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed the wrap around porch but wasn’t aware there was a small rental directly behind our property which had guests.

This was the perfect beach getaway. The home was clean and tidy. We appreciated the information on the fridge of the island. It helped us find a great beach spot. We brought our dogs and we were able to relax. Highly recommend this property.

Lovely home in great location. All we needed was there and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Our family of four and our dogs had a great vacation here! This house was perfect for meeting all of our basic needs. The two bedrooms and king size bed and twin beds were perfect. Kitchen was clean, had everything we needed to cook all meals. There is one regular size sofa and one loveseat in the living room. I think it’s important to note that there is a back house/ cottage that is also rented out. We weren’t able to use the backyard while we were there because the other guests had 2 large dogs. We didn’t mind however because having our dogs be able to stay there with us was phenomenal! Overall it was relaxing and peaceful. Neighborhood was quiet and balcony/ porch area was awesome!

Clean house but not a short 3 min walk to beach. It was a little hard to cool the house in the evenings and the master ceiling fan didn’t change speeds nor did the light turn on. HOWEVER, the neighborhood is central on the island, the BEST restaurant is in the neighborhood, the house is clean, the host is very responsive, and house well stocked. Would book again

We really enjoyed the laid back pace of the island. The house was in a quiet neighborhood. All amenities needed were available. The walk to the beach was short and easy.

No frills, pet and family friendly cottage in a lovely neighborhood near the beach. Very clean and comfortable with a covered porch that was perfect for AM coffee and rainy afternoons.

Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. Rain & tornado kept us inside for a few days. Not in property management control. However, as advertised, the beach may be within walking distance if you are in your 20's. It's a long walk-through high grass/weed and water. Wife & I in our 70's could not get to it. Only 1 day at the beach was disappointing. Also, a note on the refrigerator stated free parking at the beach if stamped by the police department which is not so, beach is not included with the signed police authorization slip. The home had everything we needed and was comfortable. It is a good deal for the price.

Enjoyed our stay on Ohara Drive. The host was easy to contact and always responded quickly. Kitchen was well equipped. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of linens in bathroom. My only complaint was the stairs but maybe that is because I am 77!! Will probably rent it again next year. It was peaceful and quiet.

Quiet spot in the neighborhood. Easy walk to the middle beach, bike anywhere on the island in minutes. 3rd or 4th stay in this property, price means we can come more often!

We loved the location (a bit off the main drag but within walking distance to the public beach). This was a lovely wooded lot, which made the porch and porch swing a bonus!. Also, the whole check in was super easy!!! Great wifi, the TV had most of what we would want but we also brought our own ROKU (which was super easy to attach to the LR and BR TVs).The pictures were a little bit misleading: The house is in need of updating and the kitchen photo leaves out the fact that the washer/dryer/water heater are all there and exposed. But honestly, that was fine.The bed was comfortable, but I suggest you bring your own pillows. Plenty of towels for showers, and the kitchen had most of the basics. If you plan to actually cook a family meal there, I would let them know to see what you may need to supplement. For our needs, it was just fine!Here is my only real complaint: The water heater provides enough water for 1 10-min shower every 3-4 hours. If you want to use that lovely tub they have, you will need to boil supplemental water in pots and pans as there is not enough hot water to actually fill the tub.That being said, we would absolutely re-book this site, especially now that we are aware.

Everything needed for a nice stay.

Definitely no frills, we booked this with the intention of not being in it much beyond sleeping and showering and it served us well for that. It might be time for some updating, but it’s usable and for the price, I couldn’t beat it to have our own space. Be prepared if you have younger kids, there is no cable but 31.4 is the channel for old school cartoons the internet worked fine so my teen was happy

The house was as described and Dauphin Island is unadorned and basic. Bring what you need and plan to just relax. No flashing lights but the people are very nice. No night life but a casual and restful place to spend a few days. The house had everything we needed and was comfortable.

Property was perfect for the price point (the price was amazing), but naturally, there are a few hiccups that come with that price level: - it is certainly not a short walk from the beach! Excercise enthusiasts may disagree with me as we estimated it was about 2 miles before you hit sand (not the ocean, but dunes THEN ocean), so be prepared to load up and drive to a public access point (not a big deal, dauphin island public beaches are awesome!) - the property definitely has some age to it. The main bedroom has shag carpet and is accompanied by a...musty? old? sour? smell. It isnt overbearing, and leaving the door open while out on the island got rid of most of it, but it was definitely still there. Everything was clean but the smell was strong. My assumption is that its just another old house smell, as there are many of those present throughout the property. This sour smell was isolated to the main bedroom. - the bedroom sleeps WARM. If you are a warm sleeper, you'll love this property, as even with the a/c set to 65, the main bedroom will not get cooler than about 72-74. This is with the door open or closed. Other than those issues, everything worked perfectly. If you're looking to save a buck and don't mind a few tiny caveats, this property is awesome and very hassle free!!

We had a great time on the island. House is a little dated but comfortable.

This rental was so cute and perfect for our vacation! If you have a dog that likes to hang outside, I recommend bringing a baby gate to trap them on the porch with you. I used one of the outdoor chairs to block him in a pinch. We will definitely be back! Not to mention Dauphin Island itself was absolutely wonderful!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for us and our dogs. The pictures on the listing represent the property well, and we had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed watching the hummingbirds come to the feeder while we sat on the porch in the swing. Lovely quiet neighborhood. We will be coming back!

It’s not just a house, it’s a home. My daughter stayed while attending summer classes at the sea lab and my husband and I also enjoyed the house. Felt very safe and felt like home.
