Stayed Sep 29, 2025Wow! This house is RIGHT ON the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley which is aptly named. Its a beautiful property. Surrounded by trees. Stocked well, lots of hot water with good pressure. Beds were the best. Nice and quiet. Had a great stay here.

Stayed Aug 4, 2025It was very relaxing to come back to the River House after spending the day fly fishing. Such a great spot and the house was very clean and comfortable. Loved sitting out by the river with a cup of coffee or taking a walk along the hay pasture. Scenery and sunsets were amazing. Fred and Anita were extremely friendly and willing to offer suggestions. Highly recommend!

Stayed Jul 23, 2025Anita and Fred are wonderful hosts. The guest house is clean and comfy with fantastic views from the bedrooms. The property is an ideal basecamp to explore the northern half of Yellowstone or to just hang out and enjoy the pastoral serenity on the bank of the Yellowstone river. Looking forward to an opportunity to return with the rest of the family!

Stayed Jun 5, 2025We had a wonderful stay at A River House in Paradise on the Yellowstone River and would recommend this place to anyone. We had eight adults in our group, and all were quite comfortable. A very serene setting with breathtaking views. Kitchen was small but well equipped including grilling supplies. Family and dining room were perfect. The four bedrooms were well laid out and had plenty of blankets. The room heaters in the bedrooms worked great when needed. The bathrooms were adequately stocked and it seemed there were hundreds of towels. We couldn't get the fireplace lit but didn't really need it. The hot water heater was challenged to keep up with 8 showers after a day in Yellowstone Park, so space them out a bit. Fred, the owner who lives next door, was very accommodating, wonderful to talk with and was always keeping the grounds clean. He is an avid recycler and his recycle bins were well labeled. His hunting labs Rudy and Della were a joy to be around. Overall, we had a great time and would stay there again.

Stayed Aug 14, 2024The listing indicates that this property is on a secluded 15 acres on the Yellowstone River. It’s on the Yellowstone and the exterior of the property is beautiful with gorgeous landscaping. However, it doesn’t say anywhere that the owners live in a house literally next door that shares the riverfront. So if you really want seclusion you’re not going to get it. Also, the weather was spectacular and we wanted to keep the doors and windows open. The screens had holes and gaps which let in a “hatch” of river flies - essentially a swarm - I’m talking hundreds of these flies all over the place. We had to spray the entire house, sleep in another bedroom, and close all the windows and doors. Since the owners were next door they were kind enough to come over the next morning and clean up most of the dead bugs, but this definitely put a damper on our trip. There was also a comment made that we should have expected as much staying on the river. We expected a house without holes and gaps in the window and door screens. We escaped the Phoenix heat for the gorgeous weather of Montana and weren’t able to fully enjoy it while we were at the house. We would go back to Montana again, we’d stay on the river again, but we’d make sure the place we were staying in is truly secluded and in great shape.

Stayed Jun 12, 2024We absolutely loved our time here! My husband and 3 adult children came for a family wedding just 1 mi up the rd. Beautiful scenery all around and the location was perfect. We did the north and west entrances of Yellowstone, spent time at the Chico hot springs, floated the Madison River, enjoyed the near by Old Saloon and Outpost. We had family over the day after the wedding and played games on the beautiful lawn. Anita was a traveling but Fred and the dogs were excellent hosts. I gave 4 stars on cleanliness only because it’s a rustic cabin and you are out in the country. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room. We had everything we needed for a fun, comfortable and relaxing vacation. Only recommendation is, there was no tin foil/saran wrap and only a few sandwich bags that may have been left. You may want to grab some before headed out. We hope to go back someday! Thank you Anita and Fred!

Stayed Jun 3, 2024We traveled to Livingston in order to visit Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Teton, and surrounding Livingston. The Paoli’s provide a beautiful and comfortable home with everything that you need to make the stay pleasant and comfortable. The kitchen has every tool for home cooked meals. We were on the go all day and really enjoyed coming back to the River house for dinner and relaxing. Thank you to the Paoli’s for a beautiful River vacation home!
