This two-story home offers the best of Pawleys Island, combining stunning ocean views with marsh access. With spacious indoor and outdoor areas, Laughin Place is most known for its family gatherings. The main floor offers an open living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, wet bar with a refrigerator, ice maker, Keurig and drip coffee makers. Across from the main area is a separate 1-bedroom suite with a queen bed, full bath (step-in shower), living area with a sleeper sofa, and wet bar with refrigerator and ice maker. Upstairs, you're met with a fully contained two bedroom apartment and more ocean views. There is a living area with an efficiency kitchen: full-size refrigerator, 2-burner ceramic cooktop, convection oven, microwave, Keurig, and coffee pot. Additionally, for your convenience, the newly added covered creek dock with a floating platform is perfect for fishing and crabbing. Rooftop deck with breathtaking panoramic views, shaded ground-level area perfect for lounging, or enjoy the sun right on the beach! Convenient for remote work with plenty of quiet spaces. This lovely 7-bedroom home is also available to rent many other ways; during most of the spring, fall and winter, you can rent the home as a one-bedroom suite, a two bedroom upstairs apartment, or as a 5-bedroom on the main level.     Ants all over the kitchen counter / walls / kitchen island. Several leaks in the roof that dripped heavily into 2 of the bedrooms. 1 of which that soaked the carpet.

    My family certainly enjoyed the house and its location. However, there are issues that should be addressed over the next year. When the rain came, the upstairs bedroom had water leaking onto the main bed. As well as on the second floor, Marshside, there was water dripping through the ceiling, which I think was probably coming from a lack of flashing on the balcony. The ice machine in the second floor area needs to be defrosted. There's ice buildup, which won't let you bring out ice. The small Frigidaire refrigerator there does not cool well. The unit needs a good deep cleaning. Lots of dust and stuff along the baseboards and the third floor. Washer and dryer cannot be access because the door was stuck in front of them. I certainly appreciated the lift being able to get stuff up to the second floor. Everyone enjoyed the dock. And the grandchildren are excited to come back next year.

    There are a number of areas that need maintenance. The upstairs area has a sliding door in front of the washer and dryer which is off the tracks and doesn't want to move. The first floor front bedroom has a significantly warped board just inside the door. Rains the upstairs bedroom had a leak over the main bed. on the main floor when it rained there was a leak in the bathroom. The rain storm last night there was water dripping near the light fixtures near the bay window. Probably coming in from the balcony. The ice machine in the front bedroom needs to be defrosted as the tray is frozen in place. And the small Frigidaire fridge beside it needs some work as it doesn't cool well. It would probably be worthwhile having an exterminator come by and spray for ants. A number of the vehicles had small black ants. The dock set up was very nice. We have made reservations to return next year.

    House is Very dirty, dated, in need of a major update There is a 3ft x3ft hole in the floor in bedroom. Top floor leaks very bad on the bed You get very wet going from top amd front floor to main house section Outside chairs are inadequate Junk all over the ground area Weeds growing in outside shower No light in outside shower Had to have house sprayed for ants Fridge in front room would not get cold Chair broken in sitting area. WOULD NOT RENT THIS HOUSE AGAIN

    There are pluses and minuses for Laughin place. The pluses are the separate living areas for multi-family guests. The minuses are maintenance issues. I reported the under counter ice-makers (both) were not working and no effort was made to get them working. One of the mattresses in the bunk bed room is really nasty. It should be immediately discarded. There is serious wood rot in the floorboard and surrounding door frame at he kitchen door. The bookcase in the creek-side first floor apartment is about to come off the wall. It needs immediate attention. The house needs a good bit of TLC. I have pictures if you need more detail. As much as we like the location we would not rent this house again because of the material condition.
