Stayed Aug 2, 2025Lovely well appointed holiday house. The photographs do not do it justice. The kitchen was very well equipped with high standard appliances. The pool was ideal. The only drawback was that access to the property is not the best for someone with mobilty problems but ok when you get there. Thank you Ruth. We had a great holiday.

Stayed May 16, 2025A wonderful holiday revisiting Cadaques after 20 years. All you could need for self catering, beds comfortable, pool warm enough late afternoon but it is still May. As other reviews have mentioned, the walk up from the town centre includes 84 steep steps, which was a challenge but definitely worth it.Can highly recommend.

Stayed Sep 12, 2024Friends convening in Cadaqes for the 2nd or for some, 3rd time. The photos don't do this property justice. Amazing views, we couldnt always avail of the outdoors due to severe winds. Pool was a welcome cold dip after hiking. Host was helpful with recommendations. Kitchen had multiple options for great coffee, cooking, filtering watar, even frothing milk for coffee. Our group included 2 couples and 2 single adults. The loft was perfect for our 4th guest. We would absolutely stay at this property again

Stayed Jun 16, 2024We loved our time at this house. The views are beautiful and it is very private. The third bedroom is in a separate lockable space so it was ideal for our family friend (but wouldn’t be ideal for a child). We loved the pool and view and didn’t mind the walk up the hill to the home (though if you have anyone who isn’t a strong walker I wouldn’t recommend). Our only negative was the amount of personal items that were around. It wasn’t a ton; it just seemed as though perhaps the owners don’t have a lock closet. The host was very responsive to our requests for things.

Stayed Sep 16, 2023This is our second trip to Casa Topo and we love it. Cadaques is as vibrant as ever and the house is a fantastic place to relax and unwind. We will be back again.

Stayed Oct 2, 2022The house is on a hill with a beautiful view. Lots of shared sace that also allows alone time if needed or desired. Easy walk into town for groceries or dinner. The pool is gorgeous but was a little too cold for us.

Stayed Jun 12, 2022In a perfect position overlooking the sea and Cadaques on one side, the mountains on the other. Kitchen well equipped for family cooking (note to owner that the coffee filter parts are from different machines so don’t fit together). Aircon in 3 bedrooms excellent. Third bedroom reached by outside door. However….we had good communication with the owner Ruth via Vrbo website throughout the time until arrival. On the day of arrival Ruth stopped reading our messages about time of arrival. We then had to communicate via a local agent who was brusque and abrupt with us. By WhatsApp I was told off for not arriving when she thought we would be there (I had messaged Ruth with our precise arrival time). We had been sent a key box code and let ourselves in. The local agent arrived a couple of hours later. There was no welcome at all. Not even a bottle of cold water in the fridge. There was no cooking oil-when I asked about cooking oil the agent told me “you went to a supermarket you should have bought some”. There was no soap for washing hands in any of the bathrooms-when I asked about hand soap the agent said “it’s not a hotel”. I then stopped asking any further questions as it just resulted in an unpleasant reply. When I asked for a change of sheets midstay (we were there for 8 nights) they were supplied and we changed them ourselves. We did enjoy our stay, the terraces were fabulous to sit and eat on. The pool was very clean and incredibly private. It’s just that we rent houses at home and abroad probably 6 or so times a year and are used to a warm welcome, hand soap and sufficient cooking oil for the first night at least. Improve these points and it’s a perfect stay. We did not receive any check out instructions so just left the key in the key box.

Stayed Oct 10, 2019To echo some of the other reviews, your primary regret about staying at this house is that your stay will be too short. The house is located at the top of a dead end street overlooking the picturesque town of Cadaques. When you open the front door, just drop your bags and walk through the house onto the patio and drink in the view. Oh, that view. It is spectacular and memorable. We loved having breakfast on the patio, dinner on the patio, late night cocktails on the patio...you get the idea. The house is very comfortable - open concept with kitchen and dining table adjacent to each other, down a few steps to the sizable living area with couches and a big tv (plenty of channels in multiple languages). Large glass doors open out to the patio. Did I mention the patio? We used two of the three bedrooms, didn’t use the bedroom that can only be accessed by going outside and down the stairs (it’s ok, that bedroom is nice too). Our visit was in early October...the weather was still nice (72F/22C daytime temperature), so a number of the bars, shops and restaurants were still open...I’m guessing quite a few stay open year round. We enjoyed drinks at Maritim Bar and Bola Nit, had delicious pizza at Raviyu, but also made epic meals in the kitchen at the house. There are a few small grocery stores in Cadaques, we bought most of our groceries at a larger Carrefour market in Roses on the way to Cadaques. BTW, the drive over the mountain to get to Cadaques is fun, the road is narrow and winding so go easy and enjoy the view. We did a tour/tasting at Celler Martin Faixo, just a 15 minute drive from the house...very fun and informative. Definitely go to the Dali house in Cadaques as well, a fascinating look into one of the most important artists of the 20th century. Lunch at the restaurant at the top of Cap de Creus was good too, and the view of course is fantastic. Just a few minor items to note: the house was missing a few necessities...we had to buy hand soap and paper towels at one of the small markets in town. The WiFi speed is adequate but doesn’t work well in the bedrooms, probably because the walls are so thick, maybe a WiFi repeater in the house would help. But all in all, you definitely want to stay here. It’s not easy to get to Cadaques. You’ll consider it a secret you may not want to share with other people, and you’ll want to return. And this is a lovely house to be the base for your visit.
