The house is beautiful with a great view. Perfect getaway for a large family. Spacious and comfortable.
House is amazing as well as the boat house. Perfect location that is located in a quiet/private neighborhood. Communication with the owner could not have been better. Brian responded quickly if we had any questions. If you like fishing, this is a great house for you. Would definitely stay again.
Great location/house/host!
We had siblings, kids and grandkids here for a week to celebrate our 45 wedding anniversary. This location was outstanding for all kinds of activities including boating, swimming, bicycling and even just walking through the neighborhood. Everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. We would highly recommend it for all types of gatherings!
My family of 18 had a very enjoyable stay. There were plenty of beds and space for everyone. We lucked out with the weather and spent a good amount of time outdoors taking advantage of the community tennis/pickle ball courts, the fire pit and dock/canoe. The property manager is very responsive and welcoming to his home.
The pros of this location are: large house. We were able to comfortably sleep 18 people, including kids, and it never felt like we were on top of each other. The boat dock was great for fishing. My nephew caught fish like nothing I’d seen before. We didn’t get a chance to use the kayaks but, a few people used the canoe. The lake view is very beautiful! The cons are: The property needs a little updating as the carpets in the living room have stains. The living room furniture is very used. There are cameras INSIDE the house on each floor. Kinda creepy. I understand having them outside. The closet in the master suite is locked? There are several other closets in the house, that are locked and unlocked where they have storage. Why can’t they use those areas instead of the master suite? We booked the house for an event where there were going to be pictures taken. When we got there it took three of us a few hours to clean the bug debris, to be nice, and cobwebs from the back of the house. I’m talking, hard scrubbing on the back of the house, ground level. The pictures also make the property look flat, or at least that’s how we saw it. The front and back yards are in a decline so using them for activities is a bit limiting. However, there was enough room to make it work. None of the outside outlets worked so we had to run extension cords inside for power. Ultimately, we had a great time with family and everything worked out for our weekend.
First, the good. The property is beautiful, spacious enough to hold our ten adults, 8 children, 1 toddler, and 1 infant easily. The water is always warm and the children had a fantastic time in the water. There are kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and an ample supply of life jackets. We rented a boat from Lake Anna Boat Rentals, which enhanced our trip considerably. Two of the bedrooms have enclosed screened porches, which was a wonderful luxury. The kids' rooms are upstairs and could easily have held more kids than we had. The coffee bar was well stocked, with both a Keurig and a coffee maker. We bought Kcups but there were plenty at the house when we got there. All in all, we had a great time and felt very fortunate to have found such a great spot for a long-awaited family reunion. On the not-so-great side, the amenities were incomplete and the host seemed to expect us to do many of the tasks that we associate with a cleaning crew. We made our own beds on arrival and found some sets missing or incomplete. The host remedied this problem promptly. There is no closet in the master suite, as that closet is kept private and no other wardrobe was available. There were no trash receptacles in the bedrooms, which made it difficult when we told kids to throw away their trash. There was no shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. The checkout process was, we felt, very strict. To do the level of cleaning required and still get ten kids out the door by 10:00 am was, for us, very challenging. Nevertheless, we would recommend this property to anyone looking for a family reunion. Just know that you will have to do more work than you might be accustomed to in a short-term vacation rental.
Our family had a wonderful stay! There were 10 adults and 8 kids ranging from 8 months to 10 years and we all had plenty of space. The property is beautiful and wonderfully maintained and the owner is so responsive and easy to work with. Thank you for a fabulous vacation!
Perfect house for our family vacation. Host was very helpful. Answered questions right away. We enjoy our stay and would love to return in the future. Thank you
This house was nothing short of perfect for what we were looking for. Very spacious, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, updated kitchen and appliances. It had multiple screened in decks at the house and a big dock with a screened in section. Even though the cove was next to a community boat ramp it was very quiet and did not have a lot of boat traffic. The underwater lights at the docks attracted a lot of fish at night, caught multiple 4 lb largemouth bass at the dock. Homeowner was very friendly as easy to communicate with. Would absolutely stay here again.
We had our parent's 50th anniversary gathering here. The house was perfect for our group. Great location, had everything we needed. Owner was awesome. Very responsive and easy to work with prior to check in and through checkout.
We had a wonderful stay for a long weekend over Memorial Day! The floor plan was well thought out, with entry to the main floor directly through the front entrance without having to lug heavy suitcases and coolers up steep stairs. The dock was comfortable with a screened porch, which was great to get out of the sun and to get out of the rain, while still being outside. There were lots of “toys” to enjoy on the water and the games and pool table were fun to enjoy while inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The only comments I heard were from those staying in the basement. Upon arrival, there was a musty smell in the downstairs bedrooms, perhaps from the carpets. An air purifier in one room helped. The other room resulted in stuffy noses for all. Personally for me, the trip planner (I got the master), all was perfect!
Trip was great. Weather cooperated and fantastic fishing right off the dock! House was clean and well stocked. Fire pit and grill were both brand new. These trips cost a lot of money and it’s very nice when you get a homeowner that takes care of their property and provides their guests with quality amenities. Would definitely book again!
Our family was over the moon with this house and property. The house was well stocked with the kitchen essentials etc, canoe and kayak were a lot of fun but best of all was the dock. The owner was very sweet and responsive. We loved it!
We were 8 girlfriends getting together for a birthday weekend and we had a blast. The house was perfect and clean. The bedrooms were nice and spacious. Bathrooms and showers were all clean. The private pier was an added bonus for relaxing and lounging.
