5411- Atlantic Breeze, Stunningly appointed, pet friendly, oceanfront Nags Head home

I wanted to be able to give this beautiful home a 5 star review. There are so many great features that make your stay enjoyable. What we loved: The bedroom/bathroom combos gave everyone a space of their own. The location provided accessibility to restaurants, shops, and most importantly the beach. The decks made morning coffee and evening sunsets enjoyable. The pool and hot tub. The house was not noisy. You could sleep on any floor and not be bothered. The multiple refrigerators made it very convenient for multiple families. The cabana service is amazing. They put up your tent and 6 chairs each morning around 8:00am. What I want others to know: This house needs some maintenance. One of the beds was broken and “fixed” with a board. The toaster is on its last leg. The locks and doors to the deck are very difficult to open/close. The showers have lots of mold in the corners and the water pressure is not great. Additionally, the house cleaners did a less than stellar job. We walked in to sandy floors, food crumbs all over the furniture, steps that happened been vacuumed in what looked like months as they were caked with dog hair and sand. The large island was sticky and the windows needed cleaned. They did offer to send someone back out the next morning, but who wants to do that after you have occupied the space? We cleaned ourselves and just dealt with it. There was also a great deal of trash outside. None of the remotes had batteries in them. We had to go buy them. Beware that this home is extremely close to neighbors. We were fortunate and had great ones, but I could see this being a problem. Finally, the air conditioning on the top floor was not working. At first we thought it was just not working well, but by the 3rd day it was 80 upstairs. We called late one evening and they told me they couldn’t send anyone out and that someone would be out in the morning. I had to call 5 times the next day and we were provided window units for the two upstairs bedrooms. Ultimately, we had a great vacation. It’s just frustrating to pay almost $20,000 a week for a home that should be well maintained for that cost. We understand it is difficult to maintain a home at the beach, but we were not impressed and found it disappointing to have to clean it ourselves. I appreciated how responsive the company was, but would hope that some of these things are fixed for future renters. We will not be renting this home again in the future.

This place looks great in the photos, but BEWARE: this place is NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. My wife, our kids, and my in-laws stayed here for a week in April 2021. Here is a short list of the many, many pitfalls of this VRBO listing. - The AC was BROKEN and never fixed. THE ENTIRE WEEK. - The house is PAINFULLY close to the neighbors on both sides. This meant listening to EVERY conversation, smelling EVERY cigarette and EVERY joint, and watching grown men pee off the multiple balconies. We listened to our neighbors blaring music, their constant dog barking (dog had been tied up outside), and we listened to our fair share of inappropriate language / conversations. Being so close to our neighbors also meant absolutely NO quiet time for my family to sit outside with a cup of coffee to enjoy a sunrise or a sunset. At bedtime we were forced to listen to music and loud parties until the wee hours of the night. We did call the management companies for both our house and the neighbor's, both of whom said that calling the police was our only recourse. - The house was FILTHY. The amount of pet hair was UNACCEPTABLE. The sofas were FULL of pet hair. The sofas in general were DISGUSTING. The sofa in the movie theater and the seats in the movie theater were GROSS - as though they had never been cleaned before. We rented the house the week after Easter. There was half-eaten candy / candy wrappers in EVERY BED, under the beds, in between sofa cushions, in bedroom drawers, and strewn about the lawn. There were ants all over. The dishwasher was broken. The floor was covered in dust and sand. When we called the management company they said thank you for letting us know. - Every single room in this house has a huge TV. Sounds awesome. We were looking forward to watching baseball every night. NONE OF THE REMOTES WORK. Each TV has multiple remotes and there is a laminated sheet with instructions. We could not get the TVs to work. The house has a movie theater, but you cannot watch TV in this room. You must have DVDs of your own to watch. - Both of the washing machines SMELLED of MOLD and left your clothes stinking of old, wet clothes. - The house has a shuffleboard but the pieces won't slide down the board. I am not sure if it is because they don't have the correct sand, but it was totally useless. - There were old cans strewn about outside - The cleaning crew showed up an hour early and sat staring while we loaded our car

We are very satisfied and will stay here again!

Atlantic Breeze is perfect for a family vacation! With a pool and the beautiful Nags Head beach in the backyard what more could you want. The home is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is stocked with all the everyday items you would need. Resort Realty was great to deal with and everyone was helpful and polite. I would highly recommend this home!! Cant wait until next summer!
