Beautiful home with its own beach and dock is the way to go. Beautiful island without all the crowds. My dream vacation

We had an excellent time enjoying the well stocked home with lots of amenities. We enjoyed the beach, on the bay side, out in the back of the home. The views from the kitchen of the Gulf across the road were great as well.We caught so many great fish of the private dock and enjoyed swimming and kayaking. During our stay, we caught red fish, speck, flounder, white trout and more! Our dogs loved laying on the dock as we soaked everything in. The sunsets were so nice. The back deck and the rocking chairs were great for morning coffee or just chilling during the day. We were able to catch the full big red/orange blood moon on the last night there.The owners were very attentive and communicated well with us. We hope to visit again in the future.

Alabama Hideaway has everything to meet your needs and then some. Pete and Darlette have thought of every necessity for a great week. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. A perfect place for equal parts rest and recreation!

A wonderful time was had by all. We caught flounder early in the morning in the bay. We also enjoyed the kayaks. The kitchen was well stocked. We'd definitely book again.

The house was perfect! We had our own beach on bar side perfect for swimming, kayaking, and shell searching. With my wife, myself and our two adult daughters, the 3 separate baths were great. It was a minimal walk to the gulf side beach when we went for the waves. The deck off of the living room was great for having morning coffee, playing games, grilling, and eating. The ceiling fan made the warm temps feel fine. The owners were very helpful with questions and their book of information was terrific. Our pups enjoyed it as well. I would definitely stay here again. We usually book the same condo in Gulf Shores for spring break, but this time we needed to travel with our dog and wanted to invite the grandparents. The house was perfect! We loved having the dock on the sound as well as a four minute walk to the Gulf beach access. We didn’t bother with getting a free parking pass for it. We took full advantage of everything our hosts provided—fishing, kayaks, fishing from kayaks, crab traps (my dad was most excited about that prospect, but we only caught hermit crabs, lol. ). All we brought for the beach was our umbrella and swimsuits! There were plenty of beach towels and chairs. It definitely saved us room in the car for the dog and all of his stuff. The house is stocked with all sorts of movies (be sure to check the black cases in the cabinet). “Jaws” was the perfect movie for our arrival night. The house was very comfortable, we all slept so well and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a hand mixer to make frosting for a cake my mom baked at home. The day before we left we discovered it even had cake pans, so she could have baked it there. I really appreciated that it is not on the main island road, so there was no traffic out front. Thanks for being such welcoming and generous hosts. I would definitely love to plan a return trip!

Really well appointed and clean cottage perfect for two couples or a couple of families with small children. Great location with access to both the bayside and gulf side. Due to predominant north wind we spent most of our time on the gulf side...even managed to catch some keeper size whiting and one nice keeper redfish. Pete, the host, was very responsive and checking into and out of the cottage was very easy.

This was the perfect get away this time of year. We loved it.

This was our first time in Dauphin Island and we loved it. The house was beautiful. It had the most equipped kitchen we've ever had. The veiws were perfect, the house was perfect. It was an excellent beach getaway.

We absolutely loved this beach house! It lacked nothing. The house is so well-appointed and comfortable! I fixed breakfast every morning and we ate on the large back porch. We took a short walk to the beach each day and I mean short. Took less than 5 minutes. This host has a large beach wagon to haul chairs and towels, and chairs and towels were provided! Saved us so much space in our car. My husband spent several days fishing from the dock with the provided gear! He loves to fish and it was nice to see him so relaxed and in his element! His final cast of the week brought in a 15” black tip shark! On our last day, the ocean was way too rough so we swam in the sound and had a blast! We are expecting our first grandchild and the sound is perfect for little ones! The hosts are super friendly and responsive!! They are absolutely 5 star hosts! If you are looking for a home to completely unplug and recharge, this is it!!

We really enjoyed our time on the bay side. The house had everything we needed and felt like home. Fishing was great off the dock. The Boat lift was a great extra.

We had such a great expierence at this lovely home. We went to celebrate my moms retirement and have a low key beach week. We could not have asked for better. The house was perfect. Very clean and had everything you would need. The neighborhood was quiet and family friendly. The pier to the bat was amazing. Picture early morning sunrises with coffee, watching dolphins swim by. We enjoyed kayaking in the bay and walking the gulf side beach at sunset. The owners were super responsive and access was a breeze. Their book had all the local information you would need if i could give them 10 stars, i would. Thanks for a great time in your beautiful home!
