Soldotna, Alaska
This log home is situated on the bank of the world famous Kenai River; only 20 steps will get you from the front door to the private fishing dock. You can catch sockeye, king and silver salmon; even some rainbow trout. There is a fish cleaning station as well as a vacuum sealer and a large deep freezer for your catch of the day.
The property is located approximately 2 ½ miles from Fred Meyer in downtown Soldotna. All amenities are included – linens, utensils, fully furnished living room, washer/dryer. The main house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Upstairs' master bedroom has 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds and downstairs bedroom has 1 queen and 1 twin bed. Master bath has a jetted tub to relax in after those days spent on the river. It has a lounge, dining room and fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Cleaning of the house is provided for any extended stays.
The only problem the property has is the guests must bring their own toothbrush and will not want to leave once they arrive.
We rent this home to visitors during the summer months but also have long term lease options available for a special rate.
Beautiful property right on the world famous Kenai. First morning we sat on the deck and watched a moose swim by. The cabin is comfortable and clean. It is very well stocked with everything to cook and clean (yourself and the fish). Nice empty freezer to store your fish. So close to town but feels remote and private. Had a minor home issue one night and owner came over right away to take care of it. We stayed in the big cabin. We didn’t realize there was another smaller cabin right next door that is also available to rent (We would have rented both had we known). The dock/landing isn’t big enough to accommodate both houses if everyone is fishing and the water is too deep to wade in from this spot but it worked out. We limited out every day in fish but not from the cabin. We had to drive to other spots to do so. We want to come back next year!
The home is beautiful and the setting is serene. The doc was well equipped and it was nice having the fish cleaning station. We didn’t have a lot of luck fishing for reds from the doc but it would be great if you’re going for Coho or Chinook. Marilyn and Roly were fantastic hosts and told us of areas just past the house where it’s easy to jump in the river with waiters. It’s such a neat spot, you’re away from it all but still close. We saw moose near the road and bald eagles daily. We had a great time, will definitely be back.
The cabin was spotless. Granite countertops with log walls. A perfect combination of modern amenities with a rustic feel. and right on the kenai river. I will be back.
Hostess (Sarah) was amazing! House was clean. We had a great time fishing off the dock. Cute little cabin.
Beautiful spot on the Kenai River. The hosts, Sarah and Maurice, had a fishing net all ready for us upon arrival. We all really enjoyed our stay.
Fishing on dock was fair, but not private like stated in description. We were very lucky to have a great family in cabin next to us to share dock with!
